They say that negative experiences will resound more than positive. They also say the word processor is mightier than the sword. I have no disrespect or hostility towards the employees of Midwest Dental. The scheduling was easy and the staff was courteous. But my visit there stirred the emotions enough to hit the keyboard today. I needed a new dental clinic, because my insurance keeps changing. I can't imagine I'm the only one in that situation. Midwest Dental is in the heart of Seward, which is my home. I have been privileged enough to visit many dentists in my life. Many of these clinicians were quite skilled. I never had many troubles with my teeth. Even during my visit to Midwest Dental, I was just looking for a cleaning. When they wanted to do Xrays and an exam, I agreed, knowing that it was part of their protocol. The hygienist starts probing my gums, in the procedure known as "charting", and I'm thinking, ouch! it usually doesn't feel so painful like that. I made a comment, and she says, "well it's because you've got a lot of germs in your gums. That's why your gums are bleeding so much, as well. You're gonna need a deep clean with an injectable anesthetic." This is where I started to get suspicious. If you jam someone's gums with a steel instrument hard enough, don't you expect that the gum will bleed? I said, forget it, I know what a good dentist experience is like, and this isn't it. I'm about to walk out. Then, the DDS enters the scene, instinctually reclines the chair as if it'll relax me to look at the ceiling while he explains why I need such-and-such a service that has never, in my middle-aged life of semi-annual dental checkups, been suggested to me. But, I perked up at this point, sensing the staff is using the badge of dental authority to try convince me my gut feeling is incorrect. His explanation didn't sway me. So I peaced out without another word, as we were not seeing eye-to-eye about what kind of service I expected. I give Midwest Dental 3 stars for the staff being relatively transparent and reasonable. They did not bill my insurance for any of those services, which was ethical and professional. But I already found another dentist.
I went here for the first time this year and had a great experience! Will be back every 6 months as it’s also affordable. Lots of dental practices have been a cash grab lately with limited staff and upcharges, but not this one. Both the hygienist and dentist were great - answered all my questions and explained everything to me thoroughly.
Doctor Stockton and his assistant Aisha are true artists of their craft. My mother, who is a stroke patient, had the most pleasant experience and left the office with a brand new tooth, smiling. I am so grateful.
I have been a patient of Dr. Stockton since 1998. I will never leave him. Extremely skilled and very pleasant. I feel impressed and at ease with the staff!
Great place. They are very welcoming to new patients and are phenomenal at answering questions if you have any. I would recommending coming here if you are looking for dental work.
I recently when in for new patient appt. I saw Dr. Khatoon and Carol. Both were very pleasant and professional. They explained to me what they were doing and check in often to make sure I was comfortable. I mentioned that I had had sealants in the past and that my concern is that I would need new ones. They checked and confirmed I did, Before moving forward they check my insurance policy and explained what it would cover. I felt that was a great point of service. My only critique is that the office is a bit dated looking.
I had some chips on my front teeth + they filled them beautifully! Very pleased with the results.
