Called, spoke to a HUMAN, verified my benefits, reviewed my statement, and even checked on my kids all within 10 minutes from start to end. Agent was friendly, professional, and gave thorough logical explanations. It doesn't get better than that from a customer service standpoint. Disappointed in the benefits covered here. But going back through my benefit selection from last year I choose a plan that was most economical in terms of paycheck deductions. That's the risk one takes in choosing benefits each year, and this was a bad year for personal dental needs. I understand the other negative reviews, benefits can be frustrating, especially when costs of treatment are so high. But until there is a better path forward in society that keeps costs down, yet allows for free market choice and innovation this is the reality we live in.

Absolute waste of time...I got tooth removal and upper dentures from this hack of a company. The Hastings MN .. are a total rip off, with bad procedures, still have loose gum tissue, three years after procedure. The final denture, even after a price increase for metal mesh reinforcnents are nothing but cheap resin. I have taken them back in at least 15 times in the past three years for cracks, broken pieces etc... they say they fixed them, only to break or crack in different locations. They tell me it's because my lower bite is to strong. Hmm...this past tim, after less then a month after another crack repair the broke again....after eating PANCAKES. DO NOT GO TO ANY AFFILIATED ASPEN DENTAL OFFICES....THEY CHEAP, EXPENSIVE HACK OF A COMPANY...one reason they have an F rating with the BBB.

Went in to Delta Dental with a cavity. Per their recommendation, I had 5 teeth pulled. After the "juice" wore off I (still) had horrible pain. Come to find out they didn't address the tooth I went there for. After all that i get a "2nd notice" for unrecieved bill. There was no 1st notice and about a week later I get a piece of mail from a collection agency. Best part is you have to pay before they see you... I called multiple times and they could not tell me what exactly I owed them money for... STAY FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!

I have been using delta dental for two years now for dental insurance. I thought that they would pay for dental x-rays once a year, but I recently found out that they pay for dental x-rays once every two years. The dental office that I go to take dental x-rays once a year. Now I have to pay $58 out of pocket because delta dental won't pay for the x-rays this time. What a rip off. What's the point of having dental insurance if they won't pay for the entire dental appointment every time. Plus, the insurance price goes up every year. Since they won't pay for a routine dental x-ray but once every couple of years, that's a rip off. You are just wasting money. I will be cancelling my insurance.

I was shopping today for a new dental insurance plan and my dentist mentioned a lot of their patients are with Delta Dental so I began there. I looked at their plans online and had a couple general questions, so went to their online chat option in the hopes of getting my questions answered. It turned out they have no agents available - it was still over 2 hours before they close and when I called they said it was due to volume of calls. So I speak to someone in sales about the plan and asked my questions, but they were very unhelpful, just wanting to sell their product but without really listening to my actual questions. After the call, I still did not have the information I needed so I downloaded the plan information and read through it all. As someone else reviewed, they only allow bitewings every 2 years, but most dentists I know do them annually. Glad I read the reviews here and then called them, to realize that this is definitely not a company I want to sign up to. When I asked about the online chat not being available I was told 'well, you'd have had to call anyway due to HIPPA requirements, as we can't verify you as a customer in online chat'. I had already explained I am not yet a customer. I was told I would still have had to call to ask any questions - so why is online chat offered if they can't answer anything at all? If the customer service person I spoke to had been more polite and friendly, and sounded interested in me as a potential new customer, I might still have proceeded. But as it is, I am thankful for my poor experience since it has helped me to rule them out in my search.

If I could I would give them a solid zero. Absolutely the worst "insurance" I’ve ever had. If you can even call it that. Still makes you pay out of pocket for a service that’s suppose to be covered under their plan. Such a waste of money. Avoid them at all costs. Not worth the stress.

Delta dental is a joke! Waste of time and money. Find any other dental plan because this is sure to give you headaches . They’ll say it’s covered then send a check in the mail. This check no one will cash because they can’t verify the funds . Can’t speak to a supervisor because they don’t want to talk on the phone. Can’t find the right department because they don’t care. They will transfer you until you hit the end of the road . The calls will fail and no one will know what to tell you besides sorry . Canceling my policy and will never ever go with delta dental . Be on the phone for over an hour and have literally solved nothing .
