Customer Reviews
Cub - Minneapolis Uptown has a rating of 3.7 out of 5 based on over 1530 reviews on Google
Bad customer service. No one says hi. They all talk to each other and ignore customers. There were no carts in the store and I wasn’t going back out in the parking lot to grab one. Some guy not wearing cub outfit yelled at me but had a name tag. I tried grabbing one and he yelled don’t touch it’s broke It shouldn’t be out in the floor then. I had literally only touched it. I had a few bad experiences the last few times I went. I hate theirs nonsense check outs. It’s not our problem If there’s theft. Get better security. The "fresh fruit" looks old. I want to ship st a place that’s friendly so I’ll just go to Aldi or Lund’s & Byerly’s
I am really happy to have this Cub location open again! The store was clean, the shelves were well-stocked, and the staff at checkout were friendly and efficient. It’s great to have our neighborhood store back in action. However, I’m giving three stars because there were some significant logistical hurdles during my visit. There were no shopping carts available to use, which made it difficult to get everything on my list. Additionally, the restrooms were not available to the public. I understand there might be some growing pains with a reopening, but having carts and accessible facilities is pretty essential for a full grocery run. I’m looking forward to bumping this up to five stars once those two things are sorted out!"
I have seen a ton of reviews slamming this place, so I had to see for myself. Overall, I would say this Cub is pretty good, and would like to recommend it to anyone in the area. I would especially like to recommend the $5.99 cold rotisserie chicken. That's a crazy good deal! It's not a perfect store, but is still pretty good. The layout is a bit different from the typical suburban Cub store, but the selection was just as good, and the staff was just as friendly. I went around 2pm on a Saturday, and despite it being pretty busy, and actively snowing, the store was tidy and organized. The security guard was helping move carts that people left behind. Good guy. The only thing not well stocked was the frozen meat cooler, but again- it was peak shopping time. They still did well. My only other gripe was that the men's bathroom was out of soap. I would like to give a shoutout to Renae H, my cashier. She went above and beyond. She was very friendly and kind. I would also like to give a shoutout to the employee picking online orders. I couldn't find a few items, but said employee knew where everything was off of the top of their head. For looking like they were maybe college age, that's impressive.
I live close but never did shop here. I always go to a different Cub close to my gym or on my way home from work. I thought I would check this out after the remodel. I don't really have an opinion about what they did as i don't remember what it looked like before. When I do shop I only have a basket and a few things. Not having a self checkout is a deal breaker for me. I won't be back. If the store is having a problem with theft that is not my problem. Good luck to the store. Lunds and Byerlys 3 blocks away has self checkout lanes. I gave it a try but technically they still get my business as I will continue to go to different Cubs that are convenient for me.
The employees are kind and helpful but so many of the items are locked up that you have to wait a long time to even look at a product. I was looking at different meds and the employee couldn’t leave until they closed the door so they had to stand there while I was trying to do the basic task of deciding which headache medicine was right for me. Shameful on the part of CUB. If they’re going to lock all their products up they need to hire more staff.
I gotta agree with the person who had the cashier that didn't say a single word during the entire transaction. After no hello or acknowledgement of my presence, I stood waiting to be given my total but only got a stone-faced stare. I read the screen out loud to confirm with the cashier, like "$17?" Still no reaction. I just held my phone over the tap thing waiting to pay and eventually leave. I'd give it one star, but the person who helped me buy a 7-day goto bus pass was decent enough. So kudos to them for earning another star. Like other people said, for this brutal vibe, you'd at least expect cheap prices. Nope.
I had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Michelle, and I must say her service was nothing short of exceptional. She was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout our interaction. Michelle went above and beyond to ensure that my concerns were addressed promptly and with great care.
