I’ve been a patient here for over 15 years. I was treated poorly because I refuse to get x-rays every year, I’ve never had a cavity and minimal dental issues and I’ve had 3 dentist in the past 30 years tell me I don’t need X-rays annually unless there is an issue. I usually get them every 3-4 years. Some dental technicians don’t care and some have an attitude about it. My last visit I was treated poorly and felt disrespected for declining to get X-rays, had them a year and a half ago and have zero current issues. The person that cleaned my teeth was rude and unprofessional when I declined the annual X-rays. The dentist talked to me about it and didn’t really disagree with my decision but decided to side with his employee instead of respect my decision. What happened to my body my rights? Didn’t seem to apply here. Anyways the Dr. tried to smooth it over with me but then rushed me out of the office without scheduling my next cleaning which is the first time that’s ever happened. Needless to say I won’t be going back.

Always a wonderful experience at Northwest Smile Design. Shannon is an excellent hygienist—she did a very thorough cleaning and answered all of my questions. Dr. Koontz is professional and knowledgeable, and he takes the time to fully address my concerns. I also appreciate that they never encourage unnecessary procedures I may not really need.

I have been coming here for a couple years, every person I’ve met from the receptionist to the techs and the dentist are all great to work with. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend Northwest Smile Design to anyone looking for a great dental experience.

Was having very strong tooth pain, called in and they were able to get me in within the hour to look at my teeth. They took X-rays, listened to my feedback about the pain I was having, and let me know visually that my tooth appeared fine, but ultimately that there could be underlying nerve issues and referred me to a specialist for another opinion. I felt they were honest about next steps, how long I could reasonably wait if I was considering trying to see if the pain will go away on its own and I didn’t feel pressured to make any decisions on the spot. I appreciate the team’s flexibility to get me in and help solve my problem!

I have had my share of dental work done over the years, and I can say I am very happy that I found this place. Everyone in the office is friendly and professional. They treat me like I am their number one priority. They remember my preferences and put me at ease. They take the time to explain things to me so I understand what is going on. They have all the latest equipment and technology and are very skilled at what they do. The doctor is kind, and he does a great job of identifying and fixing the problem right the first time. I know I am in the best of care and can trust my teeth will be healthy for a long time because I go here.

Even though Dr Kelly Peterson is no longer with us, his partner is a fantastic dentist Dr. Koontz. He is professional. Smart and good looking lol!! Plus the whole staff is kind, and professional! I just had my teeth cleaned and it was awesome, and they look good!!

I love Northwest Smile Design - front desk, office manager, hygienists, dental assistants, and Dr Koonz. All professional, friendly, honest, and compassionate, able to help with every dental need. So thankful to have found a dental office that inspires trust.
