The head dentist Wen Liao, is very rude and I would not recommend to anyone. She did a tooth filling that needed to be replaced, and the pain hasn't gone away. When I went in, concerning this pain, she blames the patient (me or you), and doesn't like to take responsibility for not knowing her patients history. She didn't look at paperwork before coming in to see me. She couldn't remember what work she did, and when I tried to remind her, she got very confrontational with me. She said she could take out the filling and re-do it, but was very sarcastic and condescending about it, as if I did something wrong. It is her job to make this process easier, not blame me for the pain due to her poor job.
This was a weird place. Felt more like a Botox clinic than a dentist. Weird attitude and just flat out forgot about my appointment and acted like I never scheduled it. Despite giving me a card with the appointment date and time. Would never come back.
I went in with a broken front crown, expecting a replacement resin or stainless steel crown - something clearly covered under New Mexico Medicaid/Turquoise Care. Instead, the dentist told me she refused to do a crown because it "wouldn’t look aesthetic," and then I was handed off to a coordinator who spent the rest of the visit trying to push me into an implant (which isn’t even covered by Medicaid and costs thousands out of pocket). What’s worse, they sent me out the door with an exposed root canal hole in my front tooth... no temporary filler, no compassion, no concern for how I was supposed to eat or function. The entire experience felt like they were prioritizing selling me the most expensive option instead of addressing an urgent dental need. On top of that, I was given misleading and confusing information about what my Medicaid covers. After speaking directly with Medicaid, I learned I am entitled to coverage for alternatives like resin crowns — but in this office I got a frustrating runaround that left me doubting whether I was being told the truth. Patients deserve clarity, not confusion. To make matters worse, when I requested my x-rays so my new dentist could help me, I was given the runaround. I was told to "come back tomorrow," then told they’d be ready by the end of the next day — delaying my care for no valid reason. Patients have legal rights under HIPAA to their records and x-rays, and no office should make it difficult to access them. This office showed me no compassion, no professionalism, and no respect for my rights as a patient. If you have Medicaid, beware... I felt like they were working against me rather than helping me.
Do not recommend this dentist. Dentist does not listen and wants to argue when explaining my tooth pain that started after she "fixed" my filling. I have had tremendous pain since my first visit with her that I did not have before. She keeps trying to deny that it is not on her and there is no infection but does not listen to her patients. If you have Medicaid, choose a better place to go except here!! The dental assistant is very nice though much better than the dentist.
Dr. Liao is Fantastic, and the Staff is so nice.
Just went today for first time. It was a little slow but they did a great job cleaning my teeth and everything went well. They were honest and reported I didn't have any cavities. Great experience overall considering it is a "discount" dentist. Price is reasonable and they take medicaid dental.
I hadn’t been to the dentist in over 13+ years. I misses my first appointment because I was too scared. Fortunately they didn’t give up on me and called me back to reschedule. I went in and was pulled to the back almost immediately. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. I got a cleaning and a few teeth pulled within the hour. They were also great with my son. I left with my dignity and unjudged. I’d urge anyone that need to go to just go.
