AltaMed Medical Group - Garden Grove

Update: Security Director and Altamed director contacted me and fixed the issue right away. Im glad they had a quick response. I never thought I would write this review but I feel our Hispanic community is not safe here. I am against hate/discrimination/racism. On 8/15 my parents were harassed by an AltaMed female African American security guard. She accused my mom of hitting her car. She threatened to call police which she never did. She repeatedly asked my dad to speak english. She then harassed my parents She would call ICE. I'm not sure how she would think they are here illegally, but more like assuming. She tried intimidating them just because they have a language barrier and are Hispanic. They are here legally. No patients should ever feel unsafe coming here.

*update* I finally spoke with someone at the clinic who stated they don’t care about google reviews. They will not or are refusing to update my medical records. Absolutely the worst clinic I’ve ever been to. From the front desk to the medical staff, there was a complete lack of compassion and professionalism. I was left sitting in an exam room for over an hour past my scheduled appointment—half undressed, with nothing but a paper sheet to cover myself. No explanation, no update, and no doctor ever showed up. About a month later, I was scheduled for a telehealth appointment, during which the doctor read my lab results in a cold, dismissive tone. When I shared how humiliated and frustrated I felt about my previous experience, her response was simply, "OK." That was her answer to every concern I raised—just "OK." I had to press for an apology, and even that came out as a half-hearted, "I’m sorry...?" This clinic seems to survive by serving underprivileged patients like myself who are on state insurance plans—and then delivers subpar, assembly-line care with zero trauma-informed practices. It’s disheartening and deeply unacceptable.

Went in for a nodule on my neck Doctor Bernadette Lim has been very helpful with the process of getting my appointments and such and getting myself insurance. She went above and beyond thank you, as well as the AltaMed staff for being super kind and helpful.

I'm Claustrophobic and I told them this over and over again and they made me wait two hours in this small room and told me I couldn't wait in the lobby or outside. These nurses don't care about people what so ever they lied to me repeatedly. Telling me 10 more minutes. And it's been 2 hour and I still am in this room and have seen no one.

Slow staff. They take about 20/30mins to call another patient after one leaves. One of the staffs friends came in today and she put him in the front of the line. I was told there were two people a head of me and they already called 4 patients in. The staff is slow and not professional. Unorganized and literally just playing on the computers. When someone ask a question they get bothered. The lady in the front are on their cellphones taking personal calls while customers wait.

Racist ! The doctor acted improperly and I am absolutely devastated. I will be looking into a lawsuit. I’m absolutely saddened from this experience. The doctor told me "I can’t give you an appointment cause you speak Spanish"! I have a masters and bachelors degree, for her to assume I speak Spanish solely based on "buenos tardes" is absolutely ridiculous!!!

The people who don't speak English or who never learned growing up get laughed at and neglected. They laughed at me for my English At the pharmacy I had a question about my medicine they didn't let me finish and told me to go to the back while they served others And the people in the front aren't such awesome either they make you stand In a long line with only 2 of them serving while the others are on their phones and the security are always on their phones don't even do their jobs worst experience ever! They don't even deserve 1 star
