The staff at Martin Dentistry in Elizabethton is phenomenal. Dr. Patel is the most kind and friendly dentist I have ever seen. Godsend for someone with dental anxiety. Abbey is the sweetest hygienist and does a very good job. Would recommend to anyone!

At my most recent cleaning appt, Madison was my hygienist and did a wonderful job and was very kind. However, at this appointment, the dentist which took place of a different dentist (that left the office) was not working this day. My hygienist tried to have another dentist see me for my exam, but when she came back she was told the dentists said since there wasn’t anything wrong with me, 6 months ago, they said I can wait until next time. I felt put off because they were busy. Secondly, Several months ago I had a planned extraction. I was given a small anxiety prescription for the procedure. I waited several months for this and then on the planned morning of the procedure, 45 minutes prior, I took my prescription as prescribed. I missed a phone call at this time. It was from the office and a voicemail stating a new dentist took over and they wanted to let me know I may not get the extraction done today. I called back immediately, told them that I’ve had this planned for months, I took PTO from work, and arranged for family to drive me around today due to the anxiety medication given and procedure. She said she would let the dentist know. Again, this was less than one hour before my planned appointment. When I arrived I was taken back, Dr. Pinter examined me, and then did not want to do the extraction. After speaking with the staff they called the Johnson City location and explained to them the situation. They assured me a dentist there could see me in a few hours, same day, to do the extraction. My family took me home, waited, and then drove me to Johnson City for the appointment. When I arrived they took new xrays for the dentist to review. Then, a staff member came in and told me that they were not informed that I had taken an anti-anxiety med, and therefore could not sign my consent to treat. They would not allow my mother to sign, and would not accept the previously signed treatment plan I signed in Elizabethton. The Johnson city office apologized for the misunderstanding and rescheduled me and eventually I did have my extraction at the Johnson City Martin Dentistry location. However, not one person - except my hygienist yesterday - from the Elizabethton office has apologized, spoke to me, or taken any responsibility to the unprofessional manner, inconvenience, and lack of communication. I went back for my cleaning and follow up to see if anyone would speak to me, but they did not. I will be choosing a different location for dentistry.

My experience as a new patient was a pleasant experience. Everyone, was friendly and knew their job well. The dentist was very skilled and explained what he was doing. The office is clean with modern equipment and skilled personnel. They created a plan for my husband’s dental work, and we were treated with respect! I would recommend this facility to anyone seeking excellence in dental work. They set the Gold Standard for modern dentistry!

Just wanted regular cleaning because my insurance covers 2 cleanings a year but they charged me $205 because they said it was a deep cleaning but it was no different from a regular cleaning. I had 1 deep cleaning before and this was not one this last time. Every time I go it is always something. Will never go back.

I had to have two fillings done today and I must say, I was amazed by the level of professionalism shown by the staff! Dr Olson has such a sweet demeanor, and certainly knows how to avoid causing any unnecessary pain. My dental hygienist (Katrina) Was also very kind, and does a wonderful job at helping the patient feel calm, and at ease. I highly recommend Martin Dentistry if you are like me, and are afraid of having dental work done. They are wonderful!

Trena, dental assistantwas so kind, caring and helpful. Dr.Olson is gentle and makes sure she does an excellent job. They both explained everything. Kayla was my hygienist and does a detailed cleaning. She is kind and thoughtful. All the staff is personable.

I will never be back. I don’t have dental insurance at the moment which is fine because I can pay the $117 for a cleaning. I scheduled a cleaning and specifically tell the receptionist I need to have just the cleaning, no X-rays, as I’m paying out of pocket, and I asked if that was ok and she said yes. I drive an hour to get there for my appointment, and I missed work to do this. As I’m self employed, I didn’t get paid for the time I wasted going there. I get there and she tells me they have to do X-rays which will be $375. No exceptions. I ask why are they just telling me now that I’ve wasted time coming down there. They tell me they’ve been trying to call me for two days. They said I didn’t answer and that they left a voicemail. No one tried to call me. Then she says a voicemail wasn’t set up. So which one was it? Also a lie. They do have my number correct on file too. I showed them my calls and voicemails to show I had nothing from them. She shrugged her shoulders. Someone is too lazy to make a simple call and then they lie to your face about calling you. Not a single apology or admitting of error or anything. They couldn’t care less. They made a mistake, own up to it. Act like you give a crap that your patient of 7/8 years drove there and missed work/pay for no good reason! I will gladly pay someone for my dental work, but not these idiots who couldn’t care less about their jobs or patients.
