I just visited Columbus dental group on pleasant Hill and I knew that the dentist would be another race which turn out everyone in the office was Korean. The race Korean didn’t bother me at all , but going into that area was frightening but I just prayed and continued on. When I Dr Paul Kim came in he was hitting my teeth asking me where is the pain and I quickly said, how can I tell you if you’re hitting my teeth. I never had a dentist do this before and he was so rude asking me what did I come in for and I thought why would he ask that question when it should be charted. but the only reason I was going forward is because There was a very nice man name Moses that was answering my questions more than the physician are the staff. The lady name Chloe the office manger was a extremely rude saying she’s going to file every procedure codes to my insurance to get company to get paid, after I showed her these are the dental code that was used today and I am also an insurance agent. That lady Chloe said, and you had this insurance last year. She didn’t know what she was speaking of!!!!!! I will never go back to that establishment and please be aware of this Columbus dental group!!! Maybe you maybe ok if you have to visit them and I was the only different race there. Moses was the only person that knew his job and he was the kindest and he’s not Korean!! Thank you Moses for helping me get thru an awful experience!!! I won’t even give this establishments any stars because they don’t deserve it!! I pray that god will bless them and give them compassion for the other races that would come into their establishments Chloe you seam to be a very upset elderly lady Stop trying to argue with people and telling them you’re going to make false claims. This is all I have to say about what I experience this morning is A waste of time.

Despite all the negative reviews about Columbia group dental (Duluth) on Google, I decided to go ahead and make an appointment for my gum problem on my lower left side. It's just a simple gum problem - not like I have cavity issue or something worse. And while I'm there, I was planning to get quotation about dental bridge and other cosmetic dentistry. However, upon meeting Dr. Paul Kim, I quickly realized that I made a bad decision to make an appointment at Columbia group dentistry (Duluth). First of all, Dr.Kim was very snappy and rude explaining my dental problem. I understand that he's a Korean-American. In both cultures, his attitude and manner would be considered out of courtesy. Secondly, he was very unprofessional in taking care of my gum swelling/pain problem. He didn't even bother to look inside my mouth. He just looked at the x-ray instead of actually examining my mouth. Also, instead of addressing my problem gum area he pointed out that I had to extract two of my molar teeth on the opposite side of my mouth. I tried to explain to him the main reason why I made the appointment was because of the gum swelling/pain but each time the kept cutting my words and instead insisted that I make the decision, right there and then, either to extract both molars or have root canal. I had to repeat to Dr.Kim about five times before he finally took a look inside my mouth. He didn't even bother to sit down. He just pressed my teeth and gum area with his Latax glove hands. All he said was "ohhh". And that was it. He said there's nothing showing up on the x-ray so he's going make a referral to a root canal specialist. Dr.Kim gave me no explanation, no treatment, no prescription. After I gave up on resolving my gum issue, I moved on and asked Dr.KIm about the dental all-bridge. He quickly cut me off once again and said that since I made an appointment for "local consultation" and not "general consultation" he's not going to discuss this any further and he just walked out of the exam room. I was lost and didn't know whether my session was over or not. I walked up to the front desk and told the staff what just happened in the exam room. I wasn't going to pay $100.00 for nothing. So I asked the front office staff if I could at least get an antibiotics prescription. I don't know what his job title is but a man at the front office handed me the antibiotic prescription. I also made a complaint that my dental problem was not resolved at all. The office manager happened to overhear my complaint and she approached me and asked me to go back to the exam room with her. She brought in Dr.Kim and asked him to explain more in detail for me. Instead of explaining to me, he talked to the manager and asked her to write the breakdown and estimate for me. Overall, my experience at the Columbia group dentistry (Duluth) was very upsetting and unsatisfied. For anyone who wants to avoid what I went through, please reconsider about doing business with this place.

Paid completely out of pocket, thousands of dollars, the tooth they covered hurt with any sugars, always have to be careful when eating and flossing, I always feel a strange pressure under the tooth. I was told I needed a deep cleaning and proceeded to do so, but I think the lady who did it didn't know what she was doing or was too rough, because they "fixed" all my teeth and said I just needed to take care of my teeth now, but then all my teeth started falling apart, now I need teeth removed. I'm confused. Did you shred and crack all my teeth in this rough cleaning??? Why do you not avoid certain teeth in deep cleanings? Like fake teeth, do they need harsh cleaning? Very confused. Do you even look at charts and x-rays before you begin? Just like how they told me "who is the dentist, me or you?" When I told them I had a cavity and the specific tooth hurt, but they removed the tooth beside it... I guess I just let them do whatever since they have the diploma. Yeah, not again. No, sir. Not satisfied. Will not return. I'd go through all the pain again to get my teeth done right by a better office. The men are too cocky in their work as well. You can tell. If you're a younger person, this place might not be for you.

"I am so thankful I found this clinic! I was a bit nervous, but the doctor’s quick and perfect treatment settled everything. The staff are all so sweet and welcoming; they really make sure you’re comfortable. It's rare to find such a kind and skilled team. Thank you for making my dental visit such a positive experience!"

So I have had a total of five implants placed by Dr. Kim over the years. He has been good in his practice, or so I thought. One of the implants placed by Kim (29) became loose on two occasions about a year apart. They tightened it both times. The third time, however, the crown came off. I went back to them and was told by Chloe, the office manager-along with Kim-that I would need an ENTIRELY new implant, bone grafting included; at my expense (approx. $2800). He said this in a rushed manner and called Chloe his office manager to reiterate what he already stated. I immediately did not understand why I was responsible let alone the need for a new procedure since he did no X-rays; only observed the detached crown. Therefore, I then went to get a second opinion. I went to Turkey Creek Dental (Athens, Ga)-Dr. Powell who, after taking extensive X-rays found that there was no infection nor any damage to the bone at all, let alone that would require a full new bone graft or implant. Also, he said the only thing that needed to be replaced was the tiny screw in the crown itself (see 2 in diagram). He just needed to know the type. To put this in perspective he stated that the company actually gives them extras as they are very common materials. They are about $10 each!🤯 PLEASE BE AWARE THAT YOU NEED TO GET A SECOND OPINION TO SAVE YOU THOUSANDS DUE TO POTENTIAL SCAMMING! Take note that this practice mainly responds to positive posts. Where is that same accountability for the complaints??? Chloe said it will come out, I will remove this post when it does.

There’s a young hygienist/assistant who started gossiping to her coworkers about the people I came in with, then caught herself when she realized who was sitting in the chair. It is unbelievably unprofessional and immature to publicly air out your grievances about patients in front of said patient. Maybe revisit a few workplace training courses on appropriate office behavior.

I love Dr. Kim and Dr. Hahn. I love this office and staff. All of my friends have started going here. They love it there as well. You can tell Dr. Kim is serious abt his skill. He also makes great recommendations. Hands down best dentist I’ve ever visited.
