A big thank you to Dr. Rucker and her amazing team! Our child had teeth extracted today and the entire experience—from the initial evaluation to the procedure—was handled with such care and professionalism. Karen was great at explaining costs, the front desk staff answered all our questions, and we were given clear home care instructions multiple times. Dr. Rucker was incredibly patient and calm, explaining each step to our child in a way that made her feel safe and comfortable. And thank you for the teeth—our child is thrilled for the tooth fairy’s visit tonight!
Every single visit my son has had, has been positive. This visit Daiyaana was helpful, kind, and engaging. I can tell she enjoys her work and navigating the littlest patients. We enjoy Dr. Rucker she is gentle and informative. Thanks team for making the dentist a pleasant experience for my 5-year-old.
We had a very disappointing experience with this dental office due to the behavior of the lead nurse. During our interaction, she was dismissive and disrespectful toward me as a parent, which was both upsetting and inappropriate, especially given that this involves a child scheduled for surgery. As a parent, you expect professionalism, empathy, and clear communication when trusting a medical team with your child’s care. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. While I cannot speak for the clinical skills of the providers, the lack of professionalism from their staff made us feel uncomfortable and unheard. I hope the practice takes patient and family concerns seriously and addresses staff conduct moving forward.
My son has been going here since birth & he is now 5. I really love the staff here they are sooo patient and really engage children very well. They called me to reschedule due to a schedule conflict. I was snappy ( i was confused & wrong honestly) and they were still professional & kind despite my demeanor. Which says alot about how good the frontline staff are. I also LOVEEEE how they handle dental anxiety. It heals my inner child to see my son have such a positive experience at the dentist.
My daughter had an appointment early this morning and let’s just say as much as she made y’all day, ya’ll made hers as well. The staff that took care of my baby chef’s kiss! The Dental Assistant, Kiana was so kind and genuine. Thank you for making her comfortable and calm. Oh Dr. Rucker!!! She made the room feel like home for us, had my baby saying God bless you and Black Girls Rock! My daughter spoke so highly about them to them and she doesn’t like to talk to many people, it melted my heart! Sango Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is amazing!
She’s scamming. She has done it twice to my family. She says a child needs extractions. Brings them in. Sedates them with oral medication. Gives them gas. Then makes a weak attempt to preform extractions. Abandons attempt. Then wants him or her to come back to be put to sleep. It’s a money making model that leaves the child traumatized. I witnessed first hand today. My grandson was given oral meds with about an hour wait before gas. Then gas. Then she came in a put the numbing gel on but didn’t wait long enough for it to work. My grandson was screaming (as much as he could with a bite block in and a nose mask on) when she gave him the shot. When she came back in to do the FOUR extractions (that she recommended because a permanent tooth is coming in behind one of them)… my grandson shook his head no to her attempt to put the bite block back in and she said, "Ok. We won’t do it if he doesn’t want to. He will just need braces." WHAT? She also told me that she told his mom that this was optional. Which is a sideways lie because what she actually told mom was that she HIGHLY recommended the four extractions. Then when I checked out and asked for a referral to another dentist… she said, "Are you sure that is what his mom wants because she brought his brother back for full sedation after this happened to him. We had to schedule another appointment to put him to sleep." OH! So that’s the game, is it? She’s going to be investigated if I can make that happen. Now my grandson has been traumatized and has swelled lips and a numb mouth for a few hours, AND he still has the baby teeth with a permanent tooth half way grown in behind one of them. Great money making model. She got paid today for giving him a drink of medication and a painful shot and $$$ for about 30 minutes of laughing gas. That’s it. 2 hours. Lots of drugs. No procedure. And a need to reschedule. I will be informing the public and hopefully his mom will report her to the insurance company.
We've had a few minor issues before but nothing worth complaining about. Today (16/10/25) however I feel like the issue needs addressed. We arrived early for my child's appointment, got checked, the initial brush and x-rays out the the way in a timely fashion. Afterwards the tech/assistant (not sure on her position) asked me about fluoride. After I answered she got up and walked out of the room. Didn't say anything, walked by several times, no update, no information. I didn't know if we were waiting on her, the doctor, or someone else. After over 25 minutes of nothing, I got up and left. The personal I asked didn't know why we were waiting. Communication is key, don't leave your patients sitting with zero information.
