I would like to highly recommend the salon services at Ulta in Stamford. Today I had the pleasure of meeting one of their stylists Mary Kate, and she was just terrific! I was so pleased with her work (my root touch up process). She is an excellent colorist and takes much pride in her work. Thank you Mary Kate and see you again soon for my haircut 🙂
Leslie was amazing! As a 58-year-old woman who does not know much about makeup, I have found it difficult to get help choosing the right foundation for my skin, especially to cover brown spots. Leslie spent about 45 minutes with me to find the perfect shade with the right amount of coverage. In the three weeks since she helped me, I have worn the foundation during the day, at night, and in different climates, and it still looks great. I am very happy with the results. If you are a woman (or a man—no judgment) of a certain age and need help, ask for Leslie. She is patient, kind, and very knowledgeable.
Third Disrespectful Experience — Unacceptable Customer Service I genuinely enjoy shopping with this company, but after three separate negative experiences, I can no longer ignore the pattern. Today, while I was patiently standing in line, a white woman walked up and deliberately stepped to the register without asking, without acknowledgment, and without basic courtesy. The cashier proceeded to finish with one customer and proceeded assist the lady what walked in front of me without saying a single word to me, almost as if I wasn’t even there. No greeting. No eye contact. No "next in line," no "I can help you now," nothing. This wasn’t a mistake — it was a moment that revealed a larger issue of selective service, lack of awareness, and lack of respect for customers of color. I chose not to argue. Instead, I simply left and took my business elsewhere. But walking out was not just frustration — it was disappointment. This was my third unpleasant experience at this location and it has officially become a trend I can’t support. Retail has one job: treat EVERY customer like they matter. Courtesy isn’t optional. It’s basic human decency. I hope this store invests in customer service training that includes: • Line awareness • Cultural sensitivity • Inclusive engagement • Acknowledging ALL customers, not just the convenient ones I love Ulta as a brand, but this specific location consistently fails at making certain customers feel welcome or respected. I will not be returning. Everyone deserves better than invisible, dismissive service.
My mother and I came into the Ridgeway location earlier today. It is difficult for my mother to get around and she had never been to Ulta before. Gabby, our salesperson was incredibly warm, friendly, and extremely accommodating while bringing her different samples in her price point and color range while my mom was able to sit comfortably. We also met Tammy, who is their brow specialist. She had a fantastic personality and shared a lot of her knowledge while helping us finalize our purchase. I can guarantee you that I will be back to meet with Tammy for a brow consultation. I highly recommend this location which offers fantastic service
This last experience has restored by confidence at Ulta! After multiple crappy experiences at this store and another, I started to question if I'd continue to shop here. Then comes GENESIS and MARVALYN (hope I'm spelling that correctly) - they went WAYYYYY ABOVE and BEYOND to help me! I had questions about all of the perks I had in my app and they ensured I was able to use them all (which didn't happen at a different store, where the cashier could have cared less about this). They took their time, they suggested other products and grabbed them for me - it was just an amazing experience!!! Some other young ladies helped me find fragrances for my nieces - I don't have their names. KUDOS because a few days earlier, I had a terrible experience with someone who worked there (I believe it was a manager) and was contemplating closing my credit card and going elsewhere.
Tammy did an amazing job with my brow wax! They came out very natural and not overdone. She even gave me a sample of some new benefit skincare products and made my appointment super enjoyable.
Cait did an amazing job!!!! I never get my eyebrows done because I’m scared of someone messing them up but I will now only ever get my eyebrows done by cait!!! I have medium eyebrow but a lot of hair and cait did an amazing job of showing me how much she’s going to remove before she actually waxed. I did a lamination and she expensas del Hall Process while she was doing it. Sending all my friends to her!
