Made the mistake once again of coming in early in the morning (6am). I can deal with leaving the buggy at the end of the aisle and stepping over boxes and stretching to grab what I need because the store needs to be stocked. I can ignore that the bakery is empty again (you would think you could count on a 24 hour store having a stocked bakery in the morning). The frustration grows as I arrive to the ONE cashier who isn't stationed at self checkout like any normal store but in a lane so that your checkout takes 10 times longer. So while I'm waiting in line I remember that I have $5 left on a digital gift card. I'll pull that up while I'm waiting. My turn and she rings up my order. I display the QR code and say I want to use the rest of this gift card. She asks "what is that"? A gift card. "Safeway"? Yes. "You need to print it". I need to print a digital gift card with a QR code? Then I have a flashcard sized laminated "policy" tossed at me. Needless to say you can keep your groceries and you can keep your $5. Save Mart is right across the street and their self checkout will be open. I don't need to start my day off with a crabby cashier. I would have left a 1 on the store survey on the keypad but your cashiers usually get to those before the customers.

I pre-ordered/paid for a birthday cake and I learned 30 minutes prior to my event that somehow the order was missed and there was no cake. I was refunded for my cake and offered a selection of cakes that were already prepared, but they were either too small for the occasion or ice cream cakes that would melt since the venue could not store them. What was a stressful situation was made better by Jun (customer service) and Rosario (bakery) who handled things respectfully and quickly. A more organized system in the bakery can improve the experience for future customers.

I think Safeway's store is so expensive. I had to go there for a couple of things which I will never go back again. The produce section was very nice, but outrageously priced when I went up to the check stand. There was no one there to help me. They were all stocking things on the shelves. I waited for a couple minutes, and I finally saw someone go up to the front. I don't do self, check out.n So that's why I was waiting I don't know how anyone could afford to shop here. There was hardly anyone in the store.I think about 3 people.I do not know how this story stays in business.Especially these days.

I used to come to Safeway when it opened...around 1991. The staff used to be friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I have gone back several times over the last month...and the staff does NOT want to help you. It was 9 pm, there were no carts outside the store. I asked the cashier if he could help me locate a cart. He said no, they were short staffed, and I would have to go out alone at night and find one myself. I think asked if they had hand baskets and he said no. The only positive thing was that the produce section always looks so neat, bright and cheery.

My husband and I usually enjoy shopping at this particular Safeway. However, after the horrible service we received last night, that has changed our minds completely. We came into get a few grocery items at around 11:00pm. I asked the girl that was working in the checkout area to help us ring up 3 items from the discount rack. I'm sorry I didn't get her name but she had dirty blonde dreadlocks and a terrible attitude. She immediately complained about having to do her job and was "tired of doing discounts all day long". She reeked of alcohol and was slurring her words. She then proceeded to complain that my husband reeked of cigarettes and covered her face, then walked away from our transaction. She was so intoxicated and unprofessional. I decided to call the manager of the store this morning. I was put on hold for over ten minutes and was disconnected. We will not shop at Safeway again. I don't think being intoxicated on alcohol and having a terrible attitude while at work is acceptable behavior.

Place is such a rip off you can go to any other store and get the same products for way less for example the ice cream all other stores its 2.98$ here its 6.98$ with safe way card with out 7$+ only thing I would buy from here is maybe fruits and veggies if you shopping and buying alot of food your wasting money. There is no reason to charge almost double the price of anywhere else. Blows my mind every time I come here. In this economy please be smart and shop else where until they are more reasonable and stop ripping people off. Trying buying all the same stuff some where else and I promise you will save so much money monthly. No reason to shop here

The customer service is nice so I'll go back in a pinch. Their bakery us hit or miss on whether the same pastry I LOVE from there is going to be good that day. The bananas stay a gray hue for some reason and their milk expires quickly. The isles are very tight to move a cart through as well as their check out stands. They must be busy to keep shrinking their space in such a way, but I've never really seen it full the way I have Raleys.
