The cashier Klara was very unhelpful. I told her upfront that I received items as a gift and would like to return, exchange, store credit. Anything she could do. She over explained and gave me the runaround about how she couldn’t do a return without proof of purchase. Totally understand. She was so stuck on "can’t return" that didn’t even bother offering another option. I gave her the number associated with the gifter’s account and she was able to locate the purchased but then said she still can’t process the return without an order number because it was an online pick up order. I clearly said it was a gift, a gift receipt wasn’t included and I didn’t want to reach out to the gifter to get the order number, I’m not trying to let them know I’m returning the items they got me. I just felt like she could’ve at least gave store credit. You clearly see it in your system and you’re still giving me a hard time. I should’ve asked for a manager. Telling me you can’t do something doesn’t help at all, so what can you do to help me, nothing? Most stores would just process it and at least give store credit. I’m frustrated what recent any other options offered and she was just so fixed on returning the item when I literally said I was open to whatever she could do.

I’ve always liked this Ulta location, but the customer service has gone downhill over the past few months. Today was especially disappointing. I was bounced between multiple employees, none of whom were actually listening to what I wanted. They kept directing me to products or formulas that didn’t match my needs, and the color matching was off—rushed and honestly inaccurate. Instead of taking the time to understand what I was asking for, it felt like they were more focused on giving quick answers and moving on. At times, it even seemed like they were saying whatever would make it sound like I should be satisfied, rather than ensuring I actually got the right product. I would have respected it more if they had simply said they didn’t have what I was looking for. Honesty goes a long way. I grew so frustrated that I eventually said, "Never mind—I’ll figure it out myself," because the interaction wasn’t helpful at all. It was just a waste of my time, and I was tired of repeating the same things without being heard. What made the experience even more disappointing was watching associates stand around talking or prioritizing restocking instead of helping customers. The "Do you need help?" felt scripted, not sincere. It left me feeling brushed off. I left the store unsatisfied and disappointed. This location used to offer great service, but the quality has noticeably declined recently. I truly hope management addresses this, because the experience I had today is not what Ulta advertises, nor what loyal customers deserve.

Charlie was AMAZING. So sweet, welcoming, and helpful. She made my return a quick and easy process even offered to shade match me when return to shop. She made me feel comfortable and seen recommended some good brands for my undertone, and that meant more than she probably realizes.

I took my eight year old in for a haircut and tinsel application with, Jackie. She was so kind and asked my daughter’s opinion on everything and even gave her suggestions on not cutting her hair as short as she wanted because she has curly hair and it’ll end up shorter. Jackie was very professional and took her time washing and cutting her hair. We loved the end result. We will definitely be returning to see her again.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I received from Jocelyn. When I asked her for assistance with a gift card, she laughed and acted as though she was unable or unwilling to help me. Her behavior was unprofessional and made me feel dismissed as a customer. Given that customer service is a key part of the Ulta experience, this interaction was especially frustrating. I am a loyal customer who spends a significant amount of money at Ulta, and I expect to be treated with respect when I need assistance. I hope this matter is addressed so that future customers do not have a similar experience.

I took both of my daughters to get haircuts, worse experience ever. My youngest wanted bangs and cut off about 4 inches of her hair. The hair stylist named Leah btw, I told her what she wanted, I trusted her, when she was done with my daughter I didn't know what to say, she cut off about 7 inches, her hair was uneven, she didn't even spray water on her hair at all and I actually heard one of the workers say she looks like Dora the explorer, and Leah was kinda rude as well. My oldest daughter also got bangs and a trim with another hair stylist and her hair was a little uneven as well. I later complained to Ulta, demanded my money back which I did get back and they told me l was no longer welcome to this Ulta in Oceanside. I got banned for THEIR own mistakes and for emotionally damaging my daughter. So I went to Supercuts and they fixed both of my daughter's hair and they love it.

Elana is amazing. She is fast and profesional. My hair is curly with difficult texture and she used amazing products. My blowout looked Fab!!!. Im making it a ritual to make it here and get ny Glam.
