I always have a great experience at this Ulta Beauty location. The store is clean, well organized, and easy to navigate, which makes shopping enjoyable instead of overwhelming. The staff is friendly and helpful without being pushy. Whenever I’ve needed help finding a product or getting a recommendation, someone has been quick to assist and actually knowledgeable about what they’re selling. You can tell they take pride in the store and in helping customers feel comfortable. The product selection is solid, with a good mix of high-end brands and more affordable options. Everything is usually well stocked, and the checkout process is smooth even during busier times. Overall, this is a well run Ulta Beauty with great customer service and a clean, welcoming environment. Highly recommend, definitely a 5-star experience.

Very clean and organized store. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Cesar. He was a very professional and knowledgeable store associate. He was able to identify would kind of Colognes I’d be needing base on the aroma profile I provided. Very rare that you get to meet store associates with that level expertise and customer service. 10/10 store and staff I definitely recommend!

For starters, I don’t know why I keep having faith in the fact that their salon will pull through and give me what I want with my hair. I’ve had several haircuts and coloring services done specifically at this Ulta in McAllen over the span of 5/6 years and they almost always mess my hair up beyond the point of no return. Aside from their consistently terrible salon services, today I had a worker profile me while with my child as she demanded I use a bag to place my products as she deemed it "store policy" as I was using the undercarriage of my sons stroller to store products, mind you clear and visible for employees and all to see. I was struggling as it is with pushing the stroller through their narrow aisles, and hence needless to say that carrying the large shopping bag around would’ve caused more of a hinderance. It was embarrassing and instead of offering solutions or seeing my perspective she was insistent and awkwardly unsure of the policy herself when questioned as to why I would need the bag. STAY CLEAR OF THIS ULTA AS THEY ARE NOT PARENT SND CHILD FRIENDLY. What a terrible and demeaning experience as a first time mother simply trying to go on an outing. If you are from the McAllen area I strongly recommend the Ulta on Trenton as an alternative to this terrible one in McAllen as I have never had one such issue there. Either that or Sephora may be the way to go. Ulta needs to reevaluate customer approach and services. It is most certainly an urgent matter.

(This review is for Ulta Salon Services) I made an appointment a week prior to going in. I made an appointment for my daughter for a kids haircut and tinsel and another appointment for my sister for tinsel. When we get there, we were told only 1 appointment was set but that they would accommodate my sister. Iran took care of my sister and daughter. There was another lady, I believe the manager or assistant manager, she was rushing Irna. At one point another lady told Irna to take care of another customer even though my daughter still needed the tinsel. I felt Irna was rushed and pressured and thats not a nice feeling to have when someone is working on your hair! Then, the tinsel was left a auper clustered together. Irna did fix it upon request, but the comments that were made were out of line. The price I paid for my daughters tinsel and hair cut was 45+tip. The tinsel fell out the same day btw!! The service is terrible, wouldn't return.

I was really disappointed by my experience at this Ulta. I was told I couldn’t stay in the store with my dog, even though I checked beforehand and didn’t see any signs posted about dogs not being allowed. My dog is extremely calm, quiet, and well-behaved, and we were not bothering anyone. It was an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation, and this could easily be avoided if the store clearly posted its policy regarding pets.

I came into Ulta on 12/30/25 to purchase some products and I unfortunately witnessed the mistreatment of a worker from a superior. I was around the line and I overheard their conversation and she was being so condescending to that poor worker who sounded sick with her raspy voice. She was just letting the superior know what was going on and her superior went off on her. That’s so disgusting I can’t even imagine how she treats customers. Treating others like that is unacceptable and should never happen. Seeing that in real time made me uncomfortable and I really hope that manager fixes the way she treats the people who work with her.
