Sophia T. is one of the best brow artists I've been to at an Ulta location - and I have tried many. She always goes the extra mile and is so sweet and thoughtful. I had an appointment there last week and I fainted out of nowhere - this had never happened to me before. Not a single other employee in the store noticed or looked up from their phone, even when I was slumped on the floor, and she gave me water, a hug, and a snack. Thank you so much Sophia - I really appreciate you.

The trans cashier with black long hair was very rude. The sale signs weren’t clear as to what exact product was on sale for each brand. So when I brought up items that I thought were on sale, they snapped at me and said "well the sign says what it is." We walk over to the signs because they offered to embarrass me and prove me wrong, I didn’t even ask to look at signs but they insisted. I said the sign just wasn’t very clear on what items fell under this promo, just the brand and price points, and they said "nope it says it". Then I asked her if the other item I wanted to get was part of the promo or not they said "I already told u no". Like excuse me for not hearing you because I was looking at the signs with you. No need to be rude while everyone else was friendly. Won’t he returning to this location. There are nicer ways to talk to customers instead of catching attitudes and cutting them off while they ask questions.

ULTA BEAUTY SCAM REVEALED Root touch-up: $80 Total blonde: 🚨 $140🚨 (average price for a root touch up: $60-$80; average for a total blonde: $92-$140. The stylist fee is not included - and it will come on top of the fee they advertised to you... with each stylist charging you based on their experience - average of $70-$90) So I walked into Ulta Beauty thinking I could get my roots touched up. The SAME literal two inches of hair that brunettes get colored every 6–8 weeks without drama. But apparently, if you are blonde, that exact same two inches of hair suddenly becomes a luxury experience. 🚨 The Math Is Not Mathing Brunette root touch-up: Apply color to regrowth. Process. Rinse. Done. That'll be $80 ma'am. Blonde "Total Blonde": Apply bleach to regrowth. Tone. Rinse. Done. THAT'LL BE $140 HAHA Yes, Toner is involved. 💸 The blonde tax=tbt is real. Even when I asked them not to put toner in the rest of my hair to save money. They convinced me they had to "blend the color". The moment you say you’re blonde, suddenly you’re not getting a "root touch-up", you’re getting a "Total Blonde Service™". Your bill has entered premium territory. It feels like ordering fries and being told, "Oh no, these are artisanal golden root-enhanced potato experiences." Why are we paying more for essentially the same section of hair? But don’t dress it up like it’s an entirely different category of service when it’s fundamentally root maintenance. Even rising your prices in the economy is evil. This is beyond suspicious prices it’s a scam.

It's convenient,.I just dont understand how this place is in Mid City and there are no Black employees. I've been coming since they opened and it was always an eyebrow raise for me. And if there is one, it's probably only 1. I've come at different times and days. I doubt it is because no one is applying or under qualified bc most experience in this type of retail setting can be learned on the job....

On the recommendation of my son who is a barber I went in looking for keratin shampoo and conditioner. Stuff tried to upsell me telling me these products would do me no good unless I had a keratin treatment which is completely false information. So disappointed that I walked out with nothing however I did order the products I was looking for online and my hair looks fabulous even without the treatment this store was trying to upsell me to.

I had a very mixed experience at Ulta. I had an appointment scheduled for makeup while I was in town for a wedding. My flight was running late, so I called to let the store know I would be about 15 minutes behind. I understood that most salons allow a 15-minute grace period, but when I spoke with an employee named Artie, he was extremely rude. He told me I might not be seen since Christina, the makeup artist, had a busy schedule. His tone and words left me unsure if I should even come in, stating the Christina will give me a call to let me know if she can still do my make up. At that point I felt very stressed and worried that I wouldn’t have makeup for the wedding. Thankfully, I decided to still show up—and I am so glad I did. Christina greeted me with warmth, kindness, and professionalism. She reassured me, listened to what I wanted, and delivered beautiful makeup with more than enough time. She completely turned my experience around and made me feel confident and cared for. I absolutely loved my makeup. I am still disappointed with how Artie spoke to me on the phone. His approach was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and did not reflect the welcoming service I later received. If it hadn’t been for Christina, I honestly would not have gone through with the appointment. Overall, I was very happy with Christina’s work and would highly recommend her. I only hope Ulta addresses the way Artie communicates with customers, especially those traveling from out of town who rely on their appointments being honored.
