I had a really disappointing experience at Sally Beauty. When we walked in, I was looking for permanent black hair dye, and my mom was looking for a blonde toner. After a few minutes, an employee approached us and asked if we needed help. My mom was fine, but I was struggling to find what I needed. I explained that I wanted permanent black hair dye. The employee showed me a very small bottle (around 2 oz) that cost almost $12 each. I would’ve needed at least six bottles, which was way out of my budget, so I told her I couldn’t afford that. I then asked about a black box dye with a red undertone, and she said they didn’t have that. Instead, she pointed out a much larger bottle of dye and developer for about $15 and told me I could get at least 2–3 uses out of it (she said she personally gets about 4). I was excited and decided to get it. Before buying it, I specifically asked about the undertone, and she told me it was neutral, which I understood to mean a natural, jet-black look without blue or purple tones. I also told her that I normally use black box dye (which I know isn’t ideal), but for the price and results I usually get, I was excited to try this alternative. Meanwhile, my mom originally planned to just get a toner. The employee convinced her to buy a T28 color, explaining that it would lighten her hair, make it brighter, and remove all yellow tones. My mom trusted her recommendation. By the time we checked out, my total was about $18, and my mom’s was nearly $60. When we got home and did our hair, things went completely wrong. As I was rinsing my dye, I noticed purple coming out instead of black. There was barely any black at all. Once my hair dried, it looked black but clearly had purple and blue undertones, especially in certain lighting. I wanted a neutral, natural black — not blue or purple. In some lighting, my hair literally looks blue. My mom’s experience was just as bad. The color made her hair darker instead of lighter, and after washing and drying, her hair looked almost exactly the same as before — except her roots and hair were very yellow, which was the main thing she did not want. My mom has done her own hair and only used the toner and gotten the exact results she wanted multiple times and was satisfied. I have also done my hair multiple times however with only box dye which I had explained to the employee. So when we had this happen we were not satisfied with it. The employee was very nice, but we were given exactly the opposite of what we asked for. We spent a lot of money trusting her recommendations, and neither of us is satisfied with the results. This experience was not okay, and I’m really disappointed. I am not fully turned away from this establishment and would like to try again however I do wish the employees would understand more about what they were talking about and for different people.

I had the absolute best experience over the weekend. I made 2 trips and i consistently experienced profound customer service. The employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I needed to purchase cruelty, free, and vegan items and they were extremely kind and resourceful. It’s not very often that I met with such kindness about my restrictive preferences. If they’re wearing master class in customer service, they would be the instructors. 10/10.

Absolutely recommend going to this location. Everything was well organized and Tasha was amazing. She showed me where everything was and had great recommendations for me. I normally just get my stuff from target or Walmart through pickup, but now I actually want to go inside and shop there because I know I can find everything I need and they have great deals!

Tosha is a powerhouse! She was great at juggling several customers & helped guide me thru all of my selections. She even gives helpful advice from her own expertise in the hair industry. She recommended the Sauce guacamole whip hair mask & I can’t wait to try it!🥑 🥑💕

The manager, Brook, is amazing(purple hair). She dedicated a lot of her time to help me choose what I needed! All of her suggestions were spot on and of quality! I don’t have any regrets!

The ladies who work here are exceptionally nice. They will be more than happy to assist you. It is well stocked and clean. Every visit has been pleasant. The elderly white woman who works here is a sweetheart.

Sally’s really ought to adjust their info ! I looked online & saw that Sally’s is currently listed as being open & operating under normal business hr’s. I was thrilled, given that this is our only Sally’s in L.C. & I haven’t found any other beauty supply shop that carries the toner & product that I need, without requiring a hairdresser license. Just to be sure, I called the number listed & it was still active. I didn’t speak to a person, but was given a recording telling me they’re open, along with their hours of operation. So, imagine my surprise (& extreme irritation) when I drove to the location and saw that it’s absolutely destroyed ! Yeah... there’s no Sally’s in Lake Charles !
