Update: messaged customer service the day I tried to return, haven’t heard back from them with a solution to not honoring the corporate return policy. Purchased items here before, came in to make an exchange for other items without the receipt as per Sally’s return policy which allows store credit without receipt. Unfortunately the clerk won’t process the return for the two unopened products as they should per Sally’s return policy printed on their receipt because the Sally’s system is faulty and isn’t showing my purchase under my acct in their system, even though the purchase is showing on my own credit card and they can scan my items in their system and see that it is from Sally’s and that they still sell the products I’m exchanging. Clerk called the manager and I was told to come back the next day when the manager is around, like I’m supposed drive 30m back and just not buy the items I’ve spent 20m in there selecting to MAYBE be able to make the exchange (working with the exact same info we currently have). Be serious. The funny part is I was buying several items that cost more than the items I was returning for credit towards my new purchase - which I didn’t make after they wouldn’t honor their own return policy. Will be ordering online from now on instead of making it a point to support a locally based store.
I usually really like this location. The people are not rude and they ask you if you need help. However, I’ve spent almost $60 in that store in the last 30 days and I earned a coupon. Nobody in the store could figure out how to bring it up. There were three employees nobody called upper management to figure out how to bring up the coupon. The coupon was the only reason I stopped in to make a purchase I was going to spend $27 or more. try to use my coupon online for the same location and the color hair dye that I had in my hand in the store is not listed online. I’m probably one of the most regular customers at Sally’s. I’m very frustrated and considering choosing another beauty store I will drive out of my way to get there .
I’ve been shopping at Sally Beauty's Kenner location for years with no issues — until now. I recently purchased Wella Color in Ruby Red and ended up with orange hair. As you can imagine, that’s not the result I was going for. I even asked in-store if I had the right developer, and no one corrected me — turns out I was using one that was too strong, which caused the color to lift incorrectly. When I called the store for help, the employee didn’t have any answers but told me the manager would call me back in the morning. I appreciated that — but no one ever followed up. Since I have a funeral to attend this weekend, I went in to try to get the issue resolved. The manager was rude and clearly didn’t want to return the product — even though corporate had already given me a case number and assured me there would be no issues returning it. She told me that doing your hair at home is a "gamble" and that things like this are just "the chance you take." That’s incredibly dismissive, especially when I did ask for guidance and was sold the wrong developer. One younger blonde employee did try to be helpful, and I appreciated her attitude. I was honestly going to just let it go — until I witnessed the manager through the front window, loudly pointing at me, gesturing wildly at the counter, and clearly talking about me to another employee who walked in while I was still sitting in my car. That employee then stared at me like I was a problem customer. That kind of behavior is not only childish, it’s completely unprofessional. I’ve worked retail — I understand bad days happen — but you do not treat customers like that. Ever. Sally’s Kenner used to be my go-to. After this experience, I will be going to Metairie from here on out.
Today I went into the Sally's in Kenner. This beautiful soul took care of me, she took her time to explain to me what I should do , and what not to do. I believe her name is Rachel, I Know she was in the Marines. She was just so polite, and nice and was very knowledgeable in the products. She didn't have to look anything up, she knew, and I liked that very much. Once again, I think it's Rachel, if not fellow Comrade as I was in the Army. Thank you so much, and what you told me to do worked .
I called today to see if they had a item in stock. The lady answered and said yes we do and told me to hold. She proceeded to rang up 3 people and then held a whole conversation about people her and the lady knew and never picked up the phone to say hello. I hung up (after saying hello a thousand times) to callback and the phone gave a busy signal 6 times because it's possible she never hung it up. Very unprofessional.
On this particular visit I was looking for some permanent haircolor. I thought about trying Chi haircolor and noticed that the black (1N) had a shelf life of 3 MONTHS and decided I'll just stick with my Wella. Also noticed that there was sign on the window advertising a "toner bundle" for I believe $14. I asked the associates and they didn't know much about it. Would have came in handy for this purchase (I think) but luckily I had a $10 off coupon and was able to save some $$ from that. Maybe next time, I guess. They were also out of bags which is strange cause there's plenty on display behind the counter I'm just glad my purchases were in stock. Thanks, Sallys!
Very friendly, helpful, always conciinious . The workers are always keeping the shop well stocked neat, and clean. But will stop what they are doing to assist any customer who needs help. I ask for their recommendations of a product, they always take time to show me a product or 2 that should work for me. I am always pleased when I shop there. Thanks Ilene Plemer
