Yin Tom Studio

It was a pleasure to work with Yin and her lovely team for my wedding day!! Not only did she recreate my inspiration photos to a tee, her calming and bright presence made getting ready such a joy! Her makeup skills truly shined in her ability to create gorgeous looks across the varied skin tones, undertones, and features of my bridal party (think Armani Luminous Silk Foundation Shade 1 to 8.25). The waterproof airbrushing lasted all day, didn’t settle into any fine lines, and was so light that my MOB and MOG (who rarely wear makeup) thought it was just moisturizer! Her time-management and organizational skills are unmatched. Yin + 2 assistants completed hair and makeup for 5 bridesmaids, MOB, MOG, and me with 30 minutes to spare. She even ensured my veil was perfectly placed and gifted a touch-up bag, which just highlights how much she cares for her brides! Yin Tom is not only a master at her craft, but is a lovely and kind person. I cannot recommend her enough!!

Yin is an amazing artist and completely understands the assignment at hand. She did my makeup and hair for a photo shoot during a heatwave last year and ensured that both the makeup and hair stayed perfectly in place despite the heat and humidity. I completely trusted her expertise and felt calm knowing I had the best makeup artist ever!! She would recommend alterations on my inspiration styles to best suit my features and I am thrilled with the outcome. Fast forward to most recently when she styled our moms, and bridesmaids. Across many different styles and asks, Yin delivered looks that stood up in every lighting and environment we had that day (dark indoors with flash photography, dimly-light chapel lighting, outdoor portraits in the full sunshine, and studio lit reception). She helped place my hairpiece perfectly and ensured my curls were perfectly preserved throughout the day! During the day, she’s prompt, professional, so full of energy, funny, and a true artist - anyone is lucky to sit in her chair! Thank you YIN!!!!

Yin was superb. Throughout the process, she’s very responsive. She did both my engagement photoshoot (in Feb 2022) and for the wedding (July 2022 - hot) (of course we did 2 trial runs due to COVID delays). We have a total of 24 services for 5 flower girls and 8 adults. Yin created a schedule to allow all of us to be ready but not have to wait too long (she came with 2 other make-up stylists). My bridal party had a mix of white (Irish), Indian, Thai, Chinese and of course a lot of mixed race flower girls - Yin and her team simply made us look "naturally" beautiful. She stayed with me all day and into the evening to provide touch up services during the photoshoot post ceremony, prior to the reception and a change of hairstyle to get into the dancing/party spirit. Everyone loves the hair styles the stylists created for our bridal party BUT we really really love the makeup - which was so light and natural and yet made us look sooo good. She also did a make up service for my husband (he has rosacea and wanted to make sure that the photos would look good) - his face was so natural and lasted all day. I would be guided by her suggestions both on styles and timing - she’s a professional.

AWESOME! I had much worries previously, as my hair is very dark and not easy to hold up curls, and I am afraid that it will not have any texture. Yin did an amazing job on giving me a perfect natural and lovely city hall wedding look, which lasts for the whole afternoon and night. It was a great experience working with her, and I would definitely work with her again on the big wedding day!

Yin Tom is AMAZING!! She is the epitome of perfect! She has so much talent and experience it can be felt, she is reliable, very responsive and easy to communicate with, organized, and her bubbly, fun persona just lights up the room! I had the honor of having Yin style my hair and makeup for my wedding, she also did hair and makeup for my mom and 2 bridesmaids- we all have very different hair and skin types/tones, and everyone's hair and makeup came out beautifully! She is efficient, creative, and skillful- she incorporated all of the concepts I wanted in my "look" and brought it to life, it was breathtaking! The ladies and I were so happy with her work, and even happier to have her with us! She was the life of the party!! We all laughed and giggled with her like little girls all morning while getting ready! After we were all done with our hair and makeup, we were all secretly hoping for another excuse to see Yin again. I can't stress it enough, she is amazing. Yin did my hair and makeup for our wedding, and I loved her work! I don’t usually wear a lot of makeup and I wanted a subtle, natural look. I appreciated that she really listened to my preferences and reviewed my inspiration pictures, and then she gave me her professional advice based on the venue, season, dress and photographer. In the end, I feel like we worked together to create a look that was special for the occasion, but still felt natural and very much like myself. She was punctual and very sweet on the day of the wedding. I particularly remember that I wasn’t feeling the lip color anymore, and she kindly adjusted it until I was completely happy with it. My wedding party was also pleased with the results. I am very glad I chose her! I even reached out to her afterwards for a makeup class where she taught me how to use my products, and I was happy with that as well.

Yin was my stylist for me and my girls for my wedding. She is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING in all aspects, but what I loved about Yin and the whole experience (other than the hair/makeup because that was so gorgeous and so much better than what I had imagined for myself) is that she is such a professional. I could tell from the start that she is very experienced and has gone through multiple weddings, photoshoots etc, because of the way she carried herself throughout the entire event. I was freaking out a little bit before my wedding (like any other bride would be) and Yin knew exactly what to say to help me be calm. She also meshed really well with my bridesmaids and at times it kind of felt like we all knew each other for a really long time. Additionally, because she was so experienced, she also happened to know my photographer, which was great because they really worked well together to take the pictures. I was supposed to have my wedding in 2020 but it got pushed to 2021 for COVID so I ended up doing two trials with Yin. Both times were very pleasant and she helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. She was very patient with me and explained the process step by step and was always so open to questions and suggestions. Needless to say, I felt very beautiful and happy on my wedding day because of Yin! I would highly recommend her to anyone!!
