Customer Reviews
True Food Kitchen has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 563 reviews on Google
True Food Kitchen has decently tasty food that is very healthy & fresh...but meagerly portioned. I've been to True Food a few times in the past, as they also have locations in the Southern California area. My family is mostly vegan and we were stopping by La Encantada for the day - True Food is a great option for plant-based/vegan foods, so we stopped here for lunch. There's a lovely patio outside of it that we found a table on, and our server was very friendly and efficient with his service. I appreciated that there were shades they could bring down if there was sun in your face (which it so often is when it's low in the sky on winter afternoons). As for the food, we shared a Mediterranean Hummus Appetizer, and I also ordered the Plant-Based Double Cheeseburger in order to give it a try! The Hummus Appetizer was very fresh and had great quality hummus with some red pepper and other spices/seasonings in it. I would've preferred more normal slices of pita bread rather than the crunchy, baked flatbread pieces they have instead...but it's still good quality and flavorful to go with the hummus. I found the portion size a bit disappointing for the price, however, and we paid $2 extra to get more of the baked flatbread pieces since there were so few to enjoy the hummus with. The Plant-Based Double Cheeseburger was....decent, although the pale white color of the buns were a bit off-putting, and the burger was a tad bit bland when it came to seasoning/flavor. I would have to say that there's many other vegan burgers I've had in the past that I would much prefer over this one, especially for the $20 price tag. I got an espresso martini for my drink, and it was very well made with good flavor, strength, and the right mix of all the ingredients. Overall, True Food Kitchen is a solid option for healthier food, especially if you have a plant-based/vegan diet. It is, however, also a bit overpriced and small with their portions...and I HAVE had better vegan food than this at other places.
The food at True Kitchen is both healthy and delicious! Starting your day with fresh guacamole and a simple salad is the perfect choice. And let’s not forget the Bloody Mary made with Tito’s, it’s simply divine! The atmosphere is fantastic, with a vibrant indoor/outdoor bar that makes the experience even better. Stop by, enjoy a wholesome meal, and treat yourself to a refreshing drink!
We went for a birthday celebration a few weeks back, we were very excited to try this place. The environment is wonderful except for the white chairs. They are not comfortable. We arrived for dinner at 6pm. They were out of pasta for the day by the time we ordered. We would have like to order earlier but the waiter kept skipping over us. The waiter, was nice, but service was awful. He did not have a lot of tables. They staff seems to divide the sections off fairly. I notice the tables around us, that sat after us, were catered to and received food quickly. It was a strange experience. I think we got an inexperienced waiter or is was an off night for him. My children were disappointed by the slow, impersonal service but enjoyed the food.
Nice interior, but the experience didn’t match the atmosphere. Our pizza came out burnt on the bottom and tasted like charcoal, and the quinoa bowl was bland and dry. The edamame dumplings were the only standout dish. Staff felt inattentive or disinterested...basic things like utensils/sharing bowls had to be asked for and the overall vibe was meh.
We came for the first time and we love our food We ordered ice Lavender matcha Latte, Asian wild shrimp, chines chicken salad ( i replaced chicken with salmon) and korean noodles bowl for to go . The staff was friendly we will definitely come again with our family.
We would go back as we are gluten and seed oil free and options are limited in town, but were a bit disappointed. No hostess at the stand when we arrived. We had a reservation and were sat at a tiny two top despite their being four booths available that were never sat during the entire duration that we dined and we were there until close. A big bug flew into my hair while at the table. Fortunately my husband noticed and got it out. Things happen, it was just strange as we were nowhere near the door. The staff seems very green. The kitchen doesn’t close until 10 and we arrived just after 8 and felt rather rushed through the whole experience. We tried the crispy chicken on a salad to begin and it came out black and so dry. Our server never came back to check how we liked our appetizers and we were so hungry so we just ate it. The watermelon salad was SO well done. Flavors and textures all complemented each other so nicely. That being said, the menu mentioned avocado mousse and I didn’t notice it in the dish. The lasagna and blackened grilled salmon were excellent as well. Everything was fresh and vibrant. Great flavors and vision with regard to the menu. Our first round of cocktails were great and then it seemed like the bartender was kind of over it. We had the smoke show old fashioned for our second round and were both unimpressed. So sweet and no garnish. As a craft bartender myself I would expect far more out of an almost $20 cocktail. The vibe very much felt like they were pretty slow for a Saturday night and just wanted to get out of there. I always enjoyed True Food in Phoenix and Orange County so I will give the place another chance. Just providing some honest feedback and room for improvement.
Honestly, $75 completely down the drain. The burger bun was hard, burnt, and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp way too long. The burger was totally flavorless and dry. The fries were even worse, literally hard as a rock, burnt, and totally inedible. I don’t understand how you can charge extra for fries when they come out like little burnt rocks. The upcharges are insane for the quality of food you’re getting. Super disappointing experience and definitely not worth the money. I won’t be coming back.
