Higher Grounds Coffeehouse & Deli

Just walking in is delightful. The aromas of fresh baked goods and coffee are astounding. Staff are so nice and helpful. Willing to offer suggestions if you’re unsure what you might like. Sandwiches, soups, and all kinds of breakfast items too. If you’re looking for a favorite cafe in Topeka, I highly recommend Higher Grounds.

This was my first time here and we were greeted so kindly. We ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich and it was so delicious!!! It was warm, crispy and savory. I also ordered an iced caramel breve with cold foam and it was so delicious. It was creamy and perfectly sweet. 10/10

I ordered the special today which was a roast beef sandwich with a chimmichurri dressing and also had an order of their potato soup...AMAZING! The sandwich was flavorful and the soup had tons of real bacon pieces throughout! I am a new guest here and have been telling all of my friends to try this coffee/sandwich shop. The food is delicious, their menu has tons of variety for either breakfast or lunch and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Thank you Higher Ground! You've quickly become one of my new favorite lunch establishments!

The staff is kind and helpful. They look happy to be here. The pastries look amazing. I’m gluten free, and these are not gluten free…but I’m also a seasoned baker and they look great. There are a few gluten free options here but they are very clear to say "this is not a gluten free kitchen". Enjoying a coffee in a nice place. Plenty of outdoor seating and indoor seating.

My first time visiting today and unfortunately it won't be as often as I'd like because I don't live in Topeka (Overland Park). My sister does and and she took me today. From my point of view, there was nothing not to like. Or maybe "love" might be a better description. Super helpful friendly staff, nice atmosphere (no annoying overpowering making it difficult to talk music!) very clean and nicely decorated. When I am in Topeka, if it's open, I'm there! Looking forward to trying the Apple Hand Pie I brought home as a treat! Took a photo of the little sunflower sign I saw on the way to the restrooms as we had just been to Shively Farms and their sunflower field!

So glad I found this little gem! The food and service were amazing. The weather was nice enough that we could take advantage of the outdoor seating as well. We will definitely be back; anxious to try other things on the menu.

Very new, I had the pleasure of stopping in mid-day on a Friday for lunch, there were a few other guest. No line and plenty of seating, everything was clean, neat, and tidy.The space isn't that big but perfect for a quick bite.The patio was almost full, ( beautiful day out) Staff was friendly. I ordered the turkey avacado sandwich and a bag of chips and no beverage! I did very much enjoy my meal and I appreciate that it was sloped together very nice portion size. Spent a bit over 12.00 bucks. I will stop in again for coffee.
