Stumbled on a gem in plain sight: Sab Café. You have my heart! The staff was so sweet with the best recommendations, I really couldn’t go wrong. The menu leans rich, fragrant, and deeply satisfying. Every dish was like home: pure comfort. The tom kha with chicken was 11/10, nothing short of extraordinary: silky coconut broth layered with lemongrass, sweetness, and savory depth. The oxtail pho was a showstopper: two generous bones, tender flank steak, and rice noodles, accompanied by a spice rack and all the right garnishes. My server’s excitement told me I’d chosen well. The crispy duck impressed with its thick, golden crust and tender meat, paired with jasmine rice and steamed vegetables. Even the wings—simple and crisp—spoke to care in the kitchen. Drinks shone too: The moon light saketini was so! good! And the Lady Apple Saketini struck a lovely balance of mild sweetness and polish. With quick, kind service and outdoor seating, Sab Café delivers both warmth and flavor. I loved that I could people watch while eating an absolutely divine meal. One to remember for sure. On the pricier side but absolutely worth it. Also, be warned: you can pay ~less~ by paying with cash.
This was our first meal off the plane and we were definitely pleasantly filled. We got the Black muscles in red curry, crispy duck, chicken fried rice, 2 Thai iced tea, and 2 bubble teas for $100. We sat outside for lunch and the covered part of the patio had a nice cool cross breeze out of the sun and intermittent rain. Our party of 4 was seated immediately even on the 4th of July. The food came out quickly and we weren't rushed to leave. The owners came out to chat with us, move an umbrella, and were super personable. I would definitely come back here. The crispy duck is one of our go to dishes when we have Thai food. It's deep fried but because it's in a sauce, it didn't have the crispness we were expecting. Regardless, everything was delicious and we didn't have room for dessert.
10/10 highly recommend! I've tried many dishes here and they always surpass any expectations I've had. From the fried rice to the shrimp tempura to the oxtail pho everything is delicious! The sushi is phenomenal! The best sushi I've ever had! The food comes out fast and is always fresh!
Stopped by for a couple of snacks after a walk all around the area thinking I’d get the usual run of the mill small plates. The delicious, fresh chicken satay was great! It was juicy with about 5 skewers! Dried chicken satay makes me cry! I don’t remember when I’ve had better. Also a must is the salt & pepper calamari. Lightly battered & seasoned. The house salad was fresh and huge! All 3 apps were perfect for 2 lol I took 2 to go boxes and when a homeless guy asked me what was in there I gave it to him. Hope he enjoyed it as much as I did! I love all the outdoor tables for people watching. There’s a small indoor dining room too. Friendly staff.
Wow! We’ve eaten or at so many places that I completely forgot how amazing this place is! My hubby and I were in food heaven! The dumplings… yum! We both ordered stir fry (he got the ginger, i got the garlic) and our taste buds danced the night away! Do not skip this little place!
UPDATE: I came here on a Friday at 2:00 expecting it to be open. I would call before you come to make sure it’s open. A nice hot and spicy curry meal on the rare cool day in St. Pete. The service was great, panang curry was delicious and a very big portion for the $15 lunch. I enjoyed sitting outside. Will definitely return.
Absolutely amazing Thai fusion food. There is inside and outside dining. Upon being seated, we were greeted by a very friendly server who suggested the Japanese hot sake when we asked which to have. A very good choice. We ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken which had raisins, pineapple, cashews, carrots, and broccoli served in a half a pineapple. Wow….absolutely delicious and a huge serving. The pineapple was deliciously sweet and the fried rice with all the other ingredients was very tasty. We also ordered the Crispy Grouper which is a lightly battered fried grouper over a bed of vegetables and jasmine rice with Thai basil sauce. This was truly a delicious meal with the grouper melting in your mouth. A very flavorful dish. Highly recommend.
