I can’t believe I haven’t left a review for here yet. I highly recommend coming here. The menu is wonderful, the service is great and the food is so fresh. I love coming here during happy hour and spoiling my partner and I. We love the Crunchy roll, the North Shore roll, the Crab Rangoon, and the udon noodles. If you’re feeling adventurous try the deep fried soft shell crab.
We have gone a few times now & have not been disappointed at all. Service was quick & friendly. The food is fresh & tastes amazing! Can't wait to go back again and try something new 🙂
Our waitresses was friendly and the food was excellent. My only complaint was the guy up front seating people. He wasn't very welcoming upon entering, just asked how many people, and pointed at the table, walked over with the menu, and walked back up to the front . We travel a lot. Love to eat and try new restaurants/foods, so we like to feel welcomed when entering. It sets the atmosphere.
Traveling through and wanted Sushi, cooked only! Very good!!! It was a little dark, even though we were close to the window.
Tried the Seafood Udon noodle dish today and WoW just WoW 👌 it was remarkable! Scallops cooked to perfection and delicate with no grit. I was nervous to try fishcakes and they were fun and tasty. Different mushrooms that make your palate dance and the udon noodles are amazing. Thanks to the Chef! 10 outta 10
The service at Hajime in St. Cloud was genuinely awful. From the moment we walked in, we were ignored. We stood at the "please wait to be seated" sign while multiple waiters clearly saw us and chose not to acknowledge us, not even a "one moment" or basic courtesy. When someone finally came over, there was no greeting, no welcome…just an awkward, dismissive tone. Once seated, it somehow got worse. Staff were sitting near the kitchen eating sushi, staring at us, making strange expressions, while we waited with no service. Eventually a different server came over, completely monotone, no hello, no friendliness. Just asked for drinks and walked away before we could say anything else. Throughout the meal, she repeatedly walked off mid-conversation, pushed items onto the table without a word, and made us feel like an inconvenience. Getting straws took forever, and when I asked, it was met with attitude and literally tossed onto the table. We were never checked on, never asked if we wanted more food, and our menus were taken even though it was happy hour and we clearly wanted to order more. I had to get up myself to grab another menu because no one came back. What made this experience even more uncomfortable was watching other customers who came in after us, receive noticeably faster, friendlier, and more attentive service, including menu explanations and check-ins. To be clear: the food itself was decent. No complaints there. But service matters, and this was some of the worst, most dismissive service I’ve experienced. We left hungry, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. I tipped $0, because nothing about the service warranted even a single dollar. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place based on service alone!
It's a department tradition every time we're all together to come to Hajime! This is the second time we have conquered the level 3 Omikase with ease as well as apps and regular plates. It's a blast every time!
