I saw someone sharing this dish and that’s what made me order it. But omg this is a HUGE Portion. It actually says serves 1-2. It is delicious! Not as spicy as it looks. Full of assorted seafood and some thinly sliced pork. The noodles texture is PERFECT. The proprietor offered me a takeout container immediately, but I’m going to surprise her with how little will be left by the time I’m done. lol roll me out of here!
We had a quick stop at H-Mart to get lunch. We had jajangmyeon at Paik’s and soy garlic chicken & fries at Left Wing. The jajang is good and the small serving size (small & large available) is good for one person. It came with a side of radish that complimented the taste of the jajang. I guess they just specialize in noodles given their very limited menu. Other korean restaurants would offer fried chicken but the closest meat menu that you can order here is the tangsuyuk.
Great food all around. My jajang (with egg rice) was excellent. The fried shrimp with mayo was a bit sweet for me but still good.
Came here after shopping at Hmart and it was so convenient to come here! Good: - Food came out super quickly and it was no more than 5 minutes wait - The large jjajeongmyeon was perfect for 2 people to share - it even came with some appetizers and banchan so it was a perfect amount of food for us - The noodles were so chewy and the texture was perfect - really good savory flavor Bad: - We had to wait for a table and got lucky with one, but it's a pretty crowded space - Very casual hole in the wall, so you can't stay for a long time Overall this was a good experience and how efficient it was added to the appeal.
We ordered from Doordash and got the Combo C. I can't confirm why but I remember being confused reading the what was included in Combo C (it seems fine on 7/24/22). Like, there are so many variations of Jjamppong.... Anyways, Combo C is 1 X Jajangmyeon (noodles with black soybean sauce) / 1 X Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup). The food was not my preferred meal and so it was just alright. It took quite a bit of effort to mix the jajangmyeon well because the noodles were sticking together. The jjamppong was too spicy - and if I could have read properly at the time, I wouldn't have ordered it. My boyfriend said jjamppong was good if you could ignore the spicy. It was nice that Doordash has combo options to save a few dollars.
I ordered a Grubhub order here and they refused to help me and only redirected me to Grubhub customer service. Worst customer service I've ever received at a food place. Will not be coming back. The one in San Jose is much better and the noodles here are too salty anyways.
Jjamppong, Jajangmyun, Tangsuyuk is one of the best in the city. Flavor is consistent and always on point! It's a must when I'm visiting SF, can't get this back in NY.
