Stumbled upon this newer Korean spot and my goodness it was superb! Such unique menu items and everything was absolutely delicious. The crispy pork pancake was paired perfectly with the different textures, so flavourful. The soup broth was delicious and the perfect amount of spice. Service was top notch, they refill side dishes, very attentive staff. Overall, had an exceptional experience. Going to come back to try everything on the menu.

The only time I ever had Galbi-Jjim was at Daeho and was excited to try this restaurant for the first time! We ordered the Braised Beef Short Ribs and made it an L for four of us & the Crispy Yuk Jeon (never had this before). Service was decent and we sort of had to flag someone to come over when we need water refills, etc. The Jeon was delicious and the best way to describe - a very thin beef patty wrapped in rice paper. The Galbi-Jjim was huge and the meat was SO tender, literally like the beef melting in your mouth. The only thing I wish I knew was to order more rice cakes as an extra. They had probably less than 8 rice cakes and I kept looking for them lol

Over the holidays, my wife and I have dined at three Korean restaurants in San Francisco. All of them are good. Hwa Mi Won is off the charts excellent. Our friend had the beef tartare. It was beautifully presented and delicious. My wife and I had the Galbi Dolsot served in a very hot stone bowl chocked full of beef, vegetables, and rice. A house provided selection of pickled vegetables seved as our appetizer. . The complimentary Korean rice candies that came with our bill topped off a great dining experience. The quality of the decor matches the excellence of the food. The owner has a background in design. The walls are beautifully decorated with a wallpaper showing the paintings by Sin Yunbok, an 18th century Korean artist. We will return.

Banchan was solid and they refilled them several times for free so it's great service. My elderly Korean parents weren't fans of the kimchi but they complain about everything so take them with a grain of salt. Crispy Yuk Jeon - Tasty beef wrapped in rice paper and deep fried. I liked it but it was too greasy. The serving plate was practically swimming in oil. Yukgaejang soup - served bubbling hot with a fiery spice. The flavors are deep and delicious but about halfway through the bowl I started to feel the broth had too much fat. I actually think if there was a smaller portion I would like it more. Suyuk Jeongol combo- impressive presentation and served kind of like a hot pot with a portable burner underneath. Meat was tender and I appreciated the abundance of mushrooms and vegetables. The combo has short ribs, brisket, oxtail, and beef collagen. I think the brisket was my favorite. Huge serving size and enough for 3 people. But again the broth started to overwhelm you with the level of grease. I just prefer a cleaner broth.

This is very new Korean restaurant. I got invited by my friends to eat dinner here. The place is full. We got seated in ten minutes. After we seated, the appetizers (various kimchi) were served. We ordered the famous beef stew and creamy beef broth. I seldom eat Korean food but I really enjoyed this one. The quality and the amount of food is worth the price. The service is excellent. They serve the food very fast. The staffs are attentive. The washroom are clean. The ambiance of the restaurant is good. I recommend this to anyone craving for good Korean food experience.

Wait can be up to an hour which is understandable since they just opened but they should communicate that up front. A lot of food delivery happening. Poor ventilation so a lot of smoke makes for uncomfortable and hot dining experience. Service is friendly, especially the kind gentleman at the front. The food including the banchan and bibimbap are suuuper spicy. They even offer a whole plate of gochujang! Banchan like radish and kimchi are bitter. The seafood bibimbap has squid cuts and shrimp. Crispy beef pancake and beef soup are good. I can't believe they do not have army stew nor soondubu. I recommend offering other banchan that balance spiciness.

We got suyuk jeongol combination with extra mushrooms and kept it mild. That with rice would be enough for a table of 3. *(Arrive before 5:30 pm if having weekend dinner; we left at 6:40 seeing a line outside... On a rainy day, too)* Both the shrooms and meat tender and juicy; but do eat the thinly sliced beef first / shortly after they served the pot - or they'd dry up fast lol. The bone broth definitely exceeded expectations, amazing soup with the grainy purple rice! Fishcake and marinated jalapenos are the best sides served imo. The menu is pretty short (appetizer section is literally one beef dish) so not a lot of variety here, and since most dishes are beef-based, wouldn't recommend it to vegetarian/vegans, either. But it seems that they do great at what they put on the menu - at least from our experience!
