Honestly, I was expecting to be blown away due to the recent buzz from the Cambridge location. Loved the location and service. However, there is definitely room for improvement. Food: bold flavors for sure but could you perhaps ease up on the salt content? 🙂 Lamb skewers were well-flavored, tender, but overly salted. 7/10 The fillings in the lamb dumplings was a bit on the mushy side. Though the flavor and texture if the skin were decent. 6/10 Jahunger noodles were flavorful. Noods were quite al dente, perhaps a little too Al dente. Beef slices were chewy sirloin pieces which could benefit from some tenderizing. 7/10 Eggplant dish was flavorful but a bit on the salty side. 7/10 Will try other dishes at the other location sometime.
The food here is very good and large portions. They have a large variety of options and the lamb skewers are incredible. I would recommend this to anyone in the area.
Unexpectedly good Uighur food in Providence. I ordered the laghman and lamb skewers. The noodles must have been handmade: they were extremely springy and al dente (Q弹 is the Chinese term), just the right texture. The lamb was cooked perfectly. A bit too much salt in the seasoning, but otherwise, the flavor was perfect. I'd be a regular if I lived nearby.
Absolutely blown away! The Meefen noodles are fire—springy rice noodles in a bold, spicy sauce that’s downright addictive. I dined in and even grabbed an extra order to go. Service is fantastic; the team is upbeat and genuinely welcoming, and the buzzing outdoor ambience made the whole meal feel special. Don’t skip the lamb skewers—so tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned.
I love Jahunger and it's a place I always want to come back to. The restaurant itself is unassuming but the staff are very pleasant and always accommodating. The real hit is the food of course. I love the Jahunger noodles and have had many of their other noodle dishes as well. They're always flavorful with a great chew and the meats they use are great as well. I'm not a huge fan of the dried chilies interspersed throughout the dishes but they're easy to pick out. Overall it's a fantastic dining experience and something everyone should try!
In a town that has lots of unique and amazing food this place should be near the top of your list when your in Providence. If you enjoy amazing food with a good dose of heat 🌶️, great service and a college vibe setting then this place won't disappoint.
A hidden gem! Tried Jahunger for the few times, every time we visited will find some new things~ Authentic Uyghur cuisine. The hand-pulled noodles have perfect chewy texture, and the lamb skewers were juicy with just the right amount of spice. Staff was friendly and made great recommendations too. It’s the kind of spot you almost don’t want to tell too many people about… but they deserve the love. Will definitely be back🔥❤️
