Wonderful street food and cocktail vibes.... backlit holes in the dark walls give a delightful ambiance to a Short Round visit. Every time we drop in, we make an attempt to try something different, and I have yet to be disappointed. I've somehow missed out on becoming a wing connousieur, but I'm turning into a big fan of the ones here. So far, we haven't gone wrong with whatever drink special they have, any random Thai dish that sounds interesting, and an order of wings. Short Round is quickly becoming a favorite spot when we're looking for something quick and genuinely tasty. Ordering at the counter and taking a number to your table makes service quick and painless.
I came here to celebrate a small birthday and wasn’t expecting much, as I had been here years ago and the food was underwhelming back then. Cute and small restaurant/bar with Asian street market vibes. The staff was friendly and patient with us. Most of our party hadn’t been here before. The drinks we had were good. We all had the pineapple jalapeño margarita. Majority of us ordered the wings because we kept hearing from our friends they had the best wings and wow, they were right. The tiger wings were amazing. Crispy, crunchy, juicy and the seasoning was so good. I also ordered a rice plate and that was also delicious. Everything was packed with flavor. We will definitely be back again soon for more wings and other items!
Super solid spot. Love that it’s open late. We got the pho and the crying tiger. I loved it!! The pho broth was great and surprisingly spicy. The flank steak was cooked perfectly on the crying tiger. I definitely want to go back and try the rest of their means the cocktails. I loved the fusion takes on the classics. Wish I got more pics but we ate so fast!
I had the pho & original sticky wings— both seasoned well and had appropriate textures. the pho broth was a bit salty as is, but once I added all veggies and hoisin, it reminded me of home and my mom’s. for a late night pho, I’d much rather come here than luc lac. the wings were a good balance between sticky and saucy— perfect flavor for me. the interior decorating made me miss SE asia and was reminiscent of my childhood. the movies on all four tv’s were entertaining and old school, the music was 90s flavored hip hop and rap— everything about this place feels like an viet/thai american experience. my only complaint is to be given to go chopsticks when I dined in.
Delicious food! Stir fried green beans are delicious!! And man sesame noodles are soo good! I would literally order everything on the menu if I can eat them all.
My favorite gem in town! The staff are amazing and so is the food. My favorite things to get here are the pho, bahn mi with pork, and dumplings as an appetizer. The way they cook their meat is fantastic. It’s a great atmosphere with cool music and movies always playing in the background. There’s also a great selection of drinks. The service is fast and you can tell everyone works really hard to make sure you have a great experience. 🙂
Yet another delicious meal in Portland. Perfectly prepared food paired with delicious house made ginger beer. Food came quickly and nice quiet atmosphere.
