Chubby Cattle was such a fun experience for my first hot pot! We couldn’t reserve a table for 2 but were able to be seated right away on a Saturday evening. The staff took the time to explain the iPad ordering and the self-serve station, which was helpful. Though, for first-timers, it would help to have a sheet or guidebook for tips on how to have a successful hot pot experience (ex: order of vegetables versus meat versus noodles, timing, etc.) Thankfully, I was with an expert and we hade a great time. We got the basic package and got the wagyu, pork and chicken with a lot of veggies (loved the pumpkin the most) and udon. The flavors were perfect from the broth and the staff was very kind in providing extra utensils, like tongs and forks. And, the cocktails were super delicious and priced really affordably (I’d recommend the apricot and the lychee drinks). I would love to return with a larger group and try more broths and use more of their self-service items!

The broth was good, we got the house special and SukiYaki. The meat options were good. Good service. We got the basic hot pot deal. It is pricy but ultimately worth the money. Good option for foreigners and English speakers. The tablet used to order, if you haven't done it before, is a little hard to learn but someone will walk you through. Overall great experience. The only downside was the quality of the bathroom. It did not flush twice and the other did not have soap. There are two gender neutral bathrooms.

I went to Chubby Cattle in November 2025, as I liked the idea of being able to eat good-quality meat at a relatively affordable price. Unfortunately, my experience took a turn when I was served raw fried chicken. I had already eaten about half of it before realizing it was undercooked, which is obviously a serious food safety issue. I told the server right away, to which he took the dish back and gave me a 20% discount. I felt slightly nauseous afterward and completely lost my appetite, so I wasn’t able to enjoy the rest of the meal I had paid a lot of money for. Given the situation, the 20% discount did not feel adequate. The server also barely apologized, which added to my frustration. The AYCE wagyu concept is appealing, but this experience made me very concerned about how food is being handled. I asked to speak with a manager at the restaurant, but none were available. I also called a few days later to request a callback from a manager and never heard back.

Meat quality is incredible and the servers are very nice, however, I think we caught Chubby Cattle late on a bad night. Various machines and serving stations were down, so we couldn't get bubble tea, most sodas or rice and certain items on the menu weren't available. Most of what we were able to get was very good, but at more than $100/ per person, I would expect that we would be able to get everything the restaurant has to offer, not most of it. We were also warned that some seating options would not be large enough to accommodate the meal, which I found strange. I've heard that the sushi restaurant above Chubby Cattle is excellent, so I'll have to give that a try next.

Just had a meal at this place and found the drinks were expired. They must sourced near end date drinks for lower cost. This is a very serious heath and safety concern. I don’t pay $78 per person for expired drinks. To make things worse, the server only put it very lightly by saying "I’m sorry, I’ll give you 15% off", which is nothing. This will be reported to the Department of health and safety as well, btw.

Just wrapped up dinner there with a guest. Found it via Google map and boy am I glad to dine there tonight. Menu is simple and just enough options so it's perfectly balanced. Quality of food was excellent and I give it 5 star!

My husband and I are completely and totally disappointed. We first ate here back in April 2019 and it was a perfect five star experience with sunken hot pots, a cool conveyor belt, real glassware, and actual waitstaff. It was clean and the atmosphere was amazing. We came back seven years later expecting that same quality and I honestly cannot believe it is the same restaurant. The decline is shocking. The conveyor belt is gone, the beautiful decor has been stripped away, and the music is gone. Instead of the high end service we remember, we were given paper cups for a self serve soda machine where the ice maker was broken. They have these giant open vats of ice cream, rice, and soup that everyone helps themselves to. Watching people put their dirty hands in and out of those containers basically made them inedible for us. On top of that, the meat quality has clearly gone downhill. The worst part was the cleanliness. We were seated at what was supposed to be a clean table, but I found dirty napkins and dropped chopsticks rotting under my seat. There was trash and food scraps all over the floor, and the bathroom was disgusting. They didn't even have antibacterial soap, which makes me wonder how the staff are keeping their hands clean. For a dinner that cost us over $200 for the Gold tier and drinks, I expect quality. This felt like a cheap sub-$50 meal. I am honestly worried we might get sick from the unsanitary practices we saw. I don't understand how this place still gets positive reviews in 2026 with standards this low. We will NEVER be back and I will NEVER recommend it. Wish we’d looked around a bit better before we sat down and ordered. Disgusting.
