Goldfish Japanese Restaurant

This is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant, and it never disappoints. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with a warm, friendly atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience. The staff is consistently kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, always happy to make recommendations or explain menu items, which makes every visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. The freshness of the rolls is what truly sets this place apart. Every roll is made to perfection with high-quality fish that tastes incredibly fresh, clean, and flavorful. You can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation, from the balance of flavors to the presentation. Whether you’re ordering classic rolls or specialty creations, everything comes out tasting amazing.

Every time I eat at Goldfish I always leave thinking, "it was fine." The fish is reasonably fresh, but I've never had inspiring sashimi or really delicious rolls. I prefer the food from almost every other AV sushi joint.

Everyone was so friendly. I sat at the bar because I was eating alone and the chefs behind the counter were friendly and attentive. I loved the roll I got and the appetizer was tasty as well.

Food was great, as was the service. Table was a bit cramped for three but besides that everything was good.

I was very impressed!! I used to live in the AV and never had great sushi. My niece recommended me to have dinner for a small reunion with friends and it was an excellent recommendation. The red dragon roll, the dynamite appetizer, the tempura, the Chirashi bowl had fresh generous portion of Sashimi, the Edamame with garlic & spicy sauce is a must, Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. Our waitress Kaitlin was also amazing juggling many tables and never missed a beat. I tipped 33% because it was amazing, thank you, we appreciate your efforts. Wait there's more, the crown jewel was the cucumber Soju cocktail 👍 it will blow your mind and instantly put a smile on your face. 😊

The food at Gold Fish is consistently excellent, which is the main reason we continue to come back. However, the customer service—especially the pickup ordering process—doesn’t quite match the quality of the food and we expect good customer service for the high prices of ordering out nowadays. Calling in a pickup order is very difficult, as the phone often goes unanswered regardless of the day or time. We were told the phone is turned off when the restaurant gets busy, which makes ordering inconvenient. Other sushi restaurants in the AV, such as Red Salmon, are just as busy but still manage to answer their phones and handle pickup orders efficiently. Because of this, we often find ourselves preferring Red Salmon, even though we truly enjoy the food at Gold Fish. With a smoother ordering process and better communication, Gold Fish could easily be a top choice for us.

This Restaurant is always going to do numbers with me. There food is absolutely great! I always order the kids Teriyaki Chicken bowl with veggies because the proportions get you full since the plate is loaded and only for $7-8!
