Coffee Bandits

Pleasantly surprised to find good coffee in Merced! 4.3. fun vibes withe sketches and raccoon.

Stopped by Coffee Bandits in downtown Merced. The place has a very unique vibe that may not be for everyone, and it felt a bit untidy during my visit. The coffee leaned toward a darker roast than I prefer. Overall, it was an okay experience — fine for a quick stop, but not especially memorable.

This is a great place coffee shop that I feel has been one of the key elements for Main Streets revival. Keep up the good work Coffee Bandits!

The coffee is good. I'm on a road trip and just couldn't do the chain coffee again. I needed more flavor and this place delivered. The vibe the baristas gave off was really odd though. Maybe I caught them on the wrong day but since we were just passing through on a road trip I'll never know. I liked the art in there.

Open mic on the first and third Friday of the month. Well mannered pets are welcome. Chill place to stare at your notebook computer while studying. Smart phone users are welcome too. The Chai tea is made in house. Beans roasted as needed. Great coffee drinks. I am a regular patron. Not a solicited review.

This coffee shop had a relaxed, creative atmosphere the walls were covered in art made by customers, which gave the space a really personal, lived-in feel. You could tell it was a community-driven spot. They also had a small coffee roasting machine on display, and it looked like they roast their own beans in-house, which is always a nice touch for freshness. As for the coffee itself was okay, leaning towards the lighter side with fruity notes. Not my favorite profile personally, but if you’re into more delicate, acidic brews, you might enjoy it more.

Awesome local cafe with friendly staff, community events like twice monthly open mics, and amazing drinks/merch. Definitely recommend stopping by for a drink. They have a public piano; just be sure to ask for permission before playing!
