The Social List is the absolute top spot to refuel while exploring Retro Row on Long Beach's 4th Street! Retro Row is a unique vibe—think the hipsters of Silver Lake meeting the locals of Abbott Kinney in Venice. It's cool, it's local, and it's full of energy. What We Ordered: The incredible Beef Brisket Nachos A crisp Chardonnay Our first ever (and surprisingly delicious) Matcha Beer This place is undeniably hip. Pro-tip: The best view and experience are always found at the bar!
Close enough I can walk thank goodness because parking is always hard on or near 4th. But this place is great! The folks working here are always awesome, the food is always good, and the vibes are great! I love that they have fun seasonal options along with their classics.
I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so bad that I feel like people should be warned. From the moment we walked in, the service was terrible. The girl at the front was visibly rude, giving us angry looks, and when our server came over, he spoke so fast it was impossible to understand what he was saying. We thought we ordered clearly, but what came out was completely different—my son got just two chicken tenders, my mom got a mac and cheese, and the "best burger in Long Beach" (as advertised on the menu) turned out to be one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. It tasted like a frozen patty, was completely flavorless, and I couldn’t even finish it. The tenders were somehow even worse—so bad that the aftertaste lingered in my mouth long after trying them. My son urged me to taste one, and that was the final straw. I refused to pay for them, and instead of handling it professionally, the server got upset and said he would only charge us for the beers. In the end, we still ended up paying $35 for what was honestly one of the worst meals I can remember ever having. On top of that, the place was swarming with flies, which made the entire meal even more unpleasant. Overall, the food was inedible, the service was rude and chaotic, and the environment was unhygienic. I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would The burger was good. The fries had nice flavor. The surface was horrible really felt unwanted and unwelcome there. They had no blinds for the windows and they kept the windows open so there was a lot of flies. The sun was just beating on the back of my head. They had one bathroom for women and men which, of course it's Long Beach, but the weight was so long and there was no way to even stand in line because it would cross in front of the kitchen where they were bringing in and out food, it was very awkward. The staff had attitude. They forgot to bring us our condiments when we asked for ketchup and ranch. Then, when they did bring the ketchup they brought a bottle that was nearly empty. That was not even a serving for one person, but of course I didn't want to ask them for more because of their attitude was just horrible.
Just sitting at the bar is a vibe. Bartenders are very friendly and accommodating. Came in for Old Fashioned Fridays and it did not disappoint. Came awhile back around Halloween as well for the more expensive "build your own" old fashioned ...while I prefer those, I also love a good deal. Just know you're getting 100 proof on the build your own. The classic they use 80 proof. Still need to come back for food. 😅 Will update my review when I do! 🤠
We love coming here every weekend for our bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s! We love the waitress Jazmine. She is always so sweet and welcoming! The chicken pot pie is to DIE for. Seriously one of the best things I have ever had.
I will note first that to me this place feels more like for drinking with food rather than a straight up restaurant with drink offerings. That's not a bad thing, if you planing a night out for drinking and having a bite this is a great choice. We were looking for more of restaurant vibe but still kept our reservation and ate here. Feels was good and service ok. Vibes were off for us but that's our fault.
