Customer Reviews
Daikanyama has a rating of 4.2 out of 5 based on over 401 reviews on Google
Generally nice restaurant with good but not great food. On that pricey side, but everything is expensive today. The most disturbing thing about my experience was the service. We were with another couple and all of a sudden they had tea in front of them. And we actually arrived before them and was sitting at the table for about 5 minutes prior to them being seated. They hadn't even asked us if we wanted something to drink or if we wanted tea or anything along those lines. I sat there puzzled. Ordering was the same experience. They seem to have taken the order from the couple we were with and all the sudden there was food in front of them and we hadn't even ordered yet. Again I'm left scratching my head. In fact, I don't even think we did an official order; I don't even think the waitress asked what we wanted. They never asked us if we wanted a drink or whether we wanted dessert or anything for that matter. I will not return to this restaurant. I recommend all ti keep away as there are much better sushi restaurants around with better service and better food. Good luck to them.
Absolutely amazing sushi love the staff, especially the sunset, roll and the spicy salmon and the collar roasted fish
This restaurant is a wonderful experience. The service from host to waitress was fantastic. The ambiance and decor is lovely. The food was magnificent, appetizer was perfect, my partners sushi was top tier, and my hot pot was so flavorful. Highly recommend
Very disappointed with the service. The same server gave the table next to us much better and kinder service. You might be able to get away with that if the tables aren’t close together. I’m guessing the other table was spending more money? I really didn’t appreciate the way we were treated. The manager or host working the podium was very nice to us though. On the plus side the food came out very fast and was all delicious. I strongly recommend the Truffle Duck. Be wary desserts don’t have prices and are all ~$15 and are small. Feels like they are trying to trick you. $13 for one scoop of tempura ice cream is a bit crazy. However with better communication I would not have minded the price. They also need to thaw the Heart Cake before they serve it - it was completely frozen and impossible to eat with a fork or spoon. The mango dessert was delicious. I most likely won’t return due to the service.
We stopped in on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. Place was clean and nice atmosphere. Tasty sushi. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. Service was great.
I’m so happy this place is open again. It’s such an oasis of good food. The entire atmosphere is relaxing and the perfect spot for a family night out. My son loves the pork katzu and I enjoyed the vegetable udon dish. As appetizers we enjoyed steamed pork dumplings…. Perfect. Our server was amazing! Very efficient and professional. Sure will be back.
1. not authentic Japanese food. 2. if your teen age (age 16 quiet girls) go there without adults, the store will charge the kids tips directly without telling them (very sneaky, I guess they are really short of tips). 3. over priced with small portion 4. don't expect them to treat you warmly, even you are local customers. Absolutely not recommended!
