Customer Reviews
Kern's Bakery has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 728 reviews on Google
I will say this about Kerns - they know how to curate an experience! I like Kern's quite a bit. I loved it when it opened. Then they had their troubles period when they started charging for parking, but quickly came to their senses again. (This was a period of time where I abstained from visiting because it was a ridiculous decision and made absolutely no sense in the first place) Now they have free parking again and I am a frequent customer often. I have made it a point to hold off my reviews of Kerns as a whole, because I wanted to establish a position. They have a wide variety if food options that are not really competing taste wise. It doesnt feel like the mall food hall experience - but it feels specialized. Now, if you and your family of 4 plans to go out to eat and get a drink, you are looking at spending $100. I haven't seen much variation in pricing for children vs. adults. What is delightful is that each of the resturaunts I have tried, 8 of the lot, and visited some of the stores as well - they have a well manicured selection. Their quality is high, gastonomic diversity, and appeal to both the picky and the adventurous!
Kern’s is such a Knoxville gem. They have added so many events/activations and have acquired some strong vendors since my first visit back in March of 2024. This is the perfect spot to sit and work, go to lunch with a big group or watch any sporting event. Their outdoor lawn is such a vibe and the indoors is spacious and cozy! Will keep coming back.
Kerns Bakery delivers on charm and experience. The cool factor alone is worth the stop—industrial nostalgia meets modern marketplace in all the right ways. The food court selection is genuinely impressive, offering options for different tastes without feeling overwhelming. The holiday market tucked into the extra spaces adds seasonal magic and makes it more than just a place to grab food. Parking is easy, seating is plentiful, and the outdoor area is fun for wandering, eating, or just hanging out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Wonderful food hall! So many great food options—very diverse. There is even a nails salon. Clean and accessible restrooms. Great spot to come with friends. Everyone can get what they want! There is plenty of parking and it is free.
Great food, cute shops, and a super fun patio! The old building is really beautiful and full of history. Many of the restaurants have vegan options and they seem to have events going on all the time. I love that you no longer have to pay to park. My little kids love running around on the turf and always manage to make a friend. Super family friendly spot!
Hidden inside Kern Bakery like a doorway to a tastier dimension there is a magical universe that makes you want to return day after day and draws you to its delicious Sushi, weaving spells of perfect cinnamon rolls, delicious Cuban sandwiches and above all Eggspectation sending all brunch lovers into soft-yolk bliss, and let’s not forget about Monday Night Brewing pouring the kind of beer that turns strangers into regulars. (I see you Ricky) And somehow, Kern Bakery holds all this magic and little constellation of wonders under one roof..this is food courts as they should be. If you’re wandering this food court, prepare to fall into a loop. It’s the kind of universe you end up visiting again and again — happily under its spell. Your taste buds will thank you, your wife will thank you.
Over the last 2 years I have visited Kern's Bakery (Kern's Food Hall) at least 10 times. If I lived closer to Kern's Bakery, I would visit more often. My wife and I, along with our two adult daughters and their families, love visiting Kern's Bakery. We have also brought friends to and have twice hosted large group events in the High Proof Loft for the local chapter of a US military veterans group that I help lead. We appreciate the variety of food and beverages at Kern's Bakery. One family member has Celiac Disease, so she enjoys the gluten-free options at Disco Chicken and T Ralph's, as well as the gluten-free beer/cider options at Disco Chicken and Monday Night Brewing. I personally love the history of Kern's Bakery. I especially like the vestiges of the old Kern's Bakery that remain. Overall, I highly recommend Kern's Bakery (Kern's Food Hall) for a family outing or a group event. I recommend checking the Kern's Bakery website before visiting to know what events might be occurring and what food and beverage vendors are available. If you want to reserve one of the event spaces on a Friday or Saturday evening, I recommend contacting the venue about 9-12 months in advance.
