this food y'all. I never knew it was possible for food to taste this delicious. both the chicken fried steak and the chicken pot pie were like a *transcendental experience*. wow. just wow. also a shout-out to the burnt ends which were *perfectly* cooked, and the salmon dip appetizer which was delicious and creamy and salmony without any other distracting flavors mixed in. the wait staff were super nice and friendly and attentive. I liked that our waiter asked if we had any questions about the menu in advance of taking our orders, because I *did* have a question and this way I could ask it without feeling pressured to hurry up and order. I also like that this place has huge windows in front so it gets a lot of natural sunlight (and there's no risk of being blinded by the actual sun since the tall buildings across the street block it from view). I don't normally enjoy being at restaurants and the only reason I even came here is because a friend of a friend decided to treat a group of us to brunch. But I'm so glad I did, and I will *definitely* be coming back. I even told my out-of-state family "the next time you come to KC we *have* to go to third street social." edited to add this photo of the key lime pie I ordered for dessert. The lime flavor really came through with just a hint of sour citrusy tang, and was well balanced by the top layer which was rich and creamy and sweet-but-not-too-sweet. It might have been real cream. What most impressed me was the crust, which i think was made of brown sugar? It tasted like it was specifically crafted to enhance the overall flavor profile of the pie, not just to be an edible container for the filling.
This is our favorite restaurant right now. The Prime Rib, served on Friday & Saturday evening, is the best we’ve ever had! Definitely worth the price. The animal burger and salmon mushroom risotto are incredible as well.
Tried this for restaurant week and the food was very good. I had the meatloaf and fiance had the fried chicken. Portions are big as we both had to take home. I tried her chicken and she my meatloaf and we agreed we liked the chicken a bit more but no complaints. The server was kind even though busy. Environment was clean and relaxed. Forgot to take photos but presentation was good as well.
Popped in for lunch on a random Monday. Enjoyed the blood orange margarita and pork belly burnt end appetizer. Great service at the bar too!
My name is Ra’ni Mercer and I’ve been to Third Street Social a multitude of times. I spend my hard earned money in this establishment OFTEN. But what happened to my friends and I Saturday night was completely unacceptable. From the moment we came in, we weren’t welcome and we could feel it. From me having a RESERVATION for 10 people, to being sat at the smallest table they had, that was meant for 8 people, BARELY. I even called the restaurant the day before and told the person I spoke with other the phone that I would have a party of 13, not 10 and I was told that it was fine! So what happened to my reservation, why make a reservation and the restaurant couldn’t accommodate it? The hostess had a horrible attitude, she even threw silverware at me. The lights were turned off on us in the MIDDLE of our meal, we had to pay for dinner to take home, because who can eat in the dark?! When I asked the manager about this, he said that the lights were timed. Funny to me how our table was the only section that had "timed lights" I’ve never had this kind of experience here. I chose this location for my Galantines dinner this year because I love the restaurant, but after this experience I won’t be back. Our waitress even felt the need to apologize on the restaurants behalf, because she said that she sees me there often. This establishment should be ashamed of themselves for treating us this way, I am still in disbelief. Ra’ni MercerMy name is Ra’ni Mercer and I’ve been to Third Street Social a multitude of times. This place was very cool, the food was delicious! Had the shrimp tacos as appetizer, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas, chicken, and spinach lasagna and for dessert..apple cobbler and ice cream. Everything was superb! The lightening at dinner made for a very intimate atmosphere. TV's strategically placed made a nice touch as well; just enough to keep up but not overwhelming like a sports bar.
Came here while visiting for graduation weekend for brunch. We ordered so many appetizers and entrees along with a few carafes of mimosas! The food was delicious and the service was great! We all left stuffed and satisfied!
