Kinship Cafe

Stopped by Kinship Cafe recently and had such a great experience! The space is welcoming, the staff were friendly, and everything felt thoughtfully put together. It’s a great spot to relax, grab a coffee, or meet up with friends. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!

My go to coffee shop in Independence! Not only are the coffee (and pastries) always good but the people are so nice. TJ always greats me by name and makes me feel so welcome! It’s also so family friendly and my toddler loves to go and enjoy some books and toys along with his chocolate milk!

I FINALLY got a chance to come in and I was not disappointed! The coffee was amazing and I ordered the grilled cheese with pesto. It was delicious. The environment was relaxed and comfortable. We were even given a rose as we visited! I will definitely be back soon!

Had the best experience(s) at Kinship! The cafe has a bright pop of color and artwork when you walk in and the staff is friendly! My fave items are the wraps. The early bird and scrambler are top tier! I love pairing my wrap with a hash brown. My go to drink is the Milky Way but the iced matcha is the best in the city, along with the coffee. Probably my top favorite thing about this shop is that it also highlights and supports other local small businesses all over the KC/Metro! Great way to build community!

This is my second time here and absolutely love the work space. I recently met a group of friends here and we all ordered food and drinks and really had a taste of everything. The staff is very attentive and personable. I personally got the turkey melt and the bread was the perfect thickness and crunch was our perfection!

I’ve been to Kinship Cafe twice within the same week, and I want to start by saying the food and the atmosphere are truly a 10/10. The space is welcoming, the vibe is great, and the food is absolutely worth coming back for. However, my experience with the service has been less impressive. On both visits, it seemed like they were short staffed, which led to long wait times for both food and drinks. Because of that, I would rate the service a 3/10. I understand that staffing challenges happen, but the delays did take away from an otherwise excellent experience.

Kinship Cafe' has that organic hometown feel! The beverages are absolutely amazing. TJ has pop up vendor events with dope DJ's and the flow of traffic is incredible. I 100% recommend this spot for a nice coffee/latte and to sit and read or have good conversation! STOP IN, you will not be disappointed!
