Excellent food, staff, and ambience. The food had so much flavor to it. Our server Arsenii was very attentive, kind, and made sure our food preferences and dietary restrictions were upheld across all dishes. The avocado ice cream was SO good… will definitely be back to eat again.
Great experience. Loved being able to get authentic Indonesian food nearby. So many vegan options!! Everything was delicious. Service by Arsenil was the best we've had in a while. Will definitely be back soon.
As an Indonesian, this restaurant really represents our food well. One thing I love about Indonesian dishes, especially Rijsttafel style, is how everything comes together, different flavors and dishes all in one meal. In my order, I got semur, rendang, and chicken, and everything was so good. The corn fritters were also awesome. I’m really happy to find an Indonesian restaurant like this in Miami and hope more people get to know Indonesian food, because it’s seriously delicious. So happy I found this place.
Indonesian Flavor Town Roller Coaster Krakatoa Indonesian Cuisine The Dish - Semur $29 FEATURED ON TRIPLE "D" Guy Fieri SHOW Food Network Protein of choice cooked with vegetables bathed in a rich, earthy sauce of whole cardamon, cloves, cinnamon, star anise and sweet Indonesian soy sauce. (A spectacular dish from Java) This dish hits all your umami senses like a pinball in a pinball machine. Like a "Flavor Town" roller coaster of flavors that ignite every sense and get your taste buds salivating for more. Just thinking of this sauce-like gravy makes my mouth salivate. This dish is absolutely extraordinary and you can feel the intense flavor of the Cinnamon, Cardamon, Star Anise & Cloves just bubbling up through each bite. One of the fun things for me was pulling out each piece of these fresh ingredients and sucking on them as you would the bone in a steak and then putting them to the side. This dish is accompanied by the most fragrant coconut rice and 3 types of cabbage as well as array of dipping sauces and fried tapioca shells. I highly recommend giving this little quant eatery a try in Hollywood Florida. I sat outside near the street to catch the vibe of the locals and tourists walking and enjoying the city. There is also this cool little mystic shop next door were they read palms and such, next time I might go get my chakra realigned 😉 @guyfieri @krakatoacuisine @foodnetwork @thechefsview @psychobunny Krakatoa Indonesian Cuisine Cooking group & recipes #thechefsview #indonesianfood #indonesia #hollywoodfl #hollywoodflorida #floridafoodie #floridafood #restaurantreview #indonesiancuisine #indonesianrestaurant
Interesting food. Excellent service. I love visiting family owned restaurants. This one has their kitchen on display for all to see. You have to learn the menu. We enjoyed almost everything. Dessert was yummy among other items. Would return.
Krakatoa is a small and cozy restaurant located in downtown Hollywood. They’re open only for dinner on weekdays and from noon to dinner on weekends. We ordered the rijsttafe for two. The chicken was generously coated with a peanut sauce, the lamb came in a stew that’s perfect to mix with the rice although the meat was a bit gamey, and the beef was my favorite in this dish. You get diced up purple cabbage, carrots, and shrimp chips. Overall it’s a nice restaurant if you’re feeling the need to try something new.
The food and service were absolutely amazing! Our server, Benjamin, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations. Every dish tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to come back.
