Honestly I couldn’t wait to write this review❤️ I have been looking for my childhood memory Chinese food restaurants for yearssss! Guessss what we found it at YOLO Cafe!! And I am so thankful to God to find Yolo Cafe🎉 As soon as I called to make the order over the phone Leo was so helpful and sweet. She has excellent customer service over the phone and in person. Thank you so much Leo for everything. I ordered Veggie Chinese Fried Rice with Hunan Shrimp (this was sooooo delicious and flavorful shrimp with veggies medium hot), beef egg rolls (the best I’ve had, it had the flavor when I was a child, crispy and flavorful), we also got "Sesame chicken with white meat and light batter (it was sooooooo delicious and very flavorful), egg drop soup was amazing! Everything was amazing!!!!! Hannah, her team, the chef’s did an amazing job❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ It’s my husband and I’s 7 year anniversary and this was the most delicious Chinese food we could have for our celebration. The last time my husband and I had this experience was when we were children. This bought tears to our eyes, the restaurant is very homey, excellent service, excellent food!!! We also got to meet Hannah the owner and she was so sweet and kind. Thank you Hannah for everything we really had an amazing experience at the restaurant with you, the food was amazing and we loved the whole experience. I initially thought this was a promising newly opened Chinese restaurant and decided to try it for lunch. While the menu offers a good variety of vegetarian options, most of the dishes were overly salty and seemed to use the same base sauce, making it difficult to distinguish one dish from another or appreciate individual flavors. On a positive note, the service staff were friendly, attentive, and courteous, which made the dining experience more pleasant. Unfortunately, despite the decent service, the food itself did not feel authentic or representative of traditional Chinese cuisine. Overall, it has potential, but the flavors and authenticity fall short of expectations.

Ordered take out and it was very good! Nice amount of heat and spice! One dish was extra hot and one was medium. Both were perfect Food was hot and ready. Nice sized portions. Staff was pleasant

It’s sad that happy uncle retired but YOLO cafe has renovated the whole place, provided better service, more food choices with some vegan options. We normally order same food we did when it was happy uncle but lately we’ve been trying new menus. My wife loves the salty and spicy pork chop, made it easier to eat with smaller cuts, spice enough and less breading. I like there vegetarIan beef mixed veggies , i just hope they add more veggies on it. I also like there vegetable soup noodles!

BEST FIND!!! We went here and ordered takeout on Christmas. This place was so busy! We LOVED all of the food we ordered and we got so many different things. Everything was so delicious. This is going to be my new fav Chinese restaurant. On Christmas, they were trying to handle all the crowds and we appreciate their hard work! I can’t stop thinking about the food ever since we ate it. You rock! Hands down this is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had.

* UPDATE : 3/10/25 I ordered again tonight and my food was so much better. The general tso chicken was delicious and not overcooked . Food was like the first time I had it. Ordered crispy beef this time. Had good flavor but not my favorite. Scallion pancakes were lighter and crispier this time. Kids liked it. *Old Review: Really disappointed. Had food from here 2 times. The first time was amazing. We went on 1/29/2025 and ate inside the restaurant. We ordered 5 dishes. Every single one was delicious! So tonight I was excited to order their food again for delivery. I got 3 of the items I had ordered previously. The General Tso chicken ( white meat), bean curd with vegetables, and scallion pancakes. Mind you I ordered the exact same way in house. The chicken was super dry and hard, like it was cooked for an hour. Could barely eat it. When I had it before it was perfect and moist. The bean curd was also over cooked dry. The pancakes were very chewy but I expected that since they are fried and with delivery that can happen. Overall just really disappointed since the first experience was amazing. Not likely to try them again if delivered food is this bad.

Had an amazing experience today when picking up my order. The ladies were so sweet and welcoming. The food is amazing. Best spot in Germantown that I have tried in years. Everything was freshly cooked, especially the spring rolls since I had to order them while I was there. Crispy beef was actually crispy unlike a lot of other places I've tried. Orange chicken tasted like orange chicken is supposed to. Crispy sesame jumbo shrimp was new to me and a new favorite.
