A beautiful, modern dining room serving Korean "hangover" soups and comfort food classics. The combo sets are a great value. We came for the seaweed soup (with oysters) to celebrate my mom's birthday. All the seafood we had was great - fried pollack was fresh and crispy and the grilled mackerel was meaty and savory with fish fat. Seafood pancake had big chunks of shrimp and octopus with tender lengths of scallion. Service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing.

Spicy marinated crab A strong recommendation for the spicy raw marinated crab. Can taste the spice but it’s not too spicy. The sauce is great!

Probably the most authentic Korean food I’ve had. Everything tastes so fresh and delicious. All of the diners here are Korean so don’t miss the real Korean dishes!

Thought the interior was pretty. We ordered a lot for four people and they were all pretty good. We did notice the service was very lackluster. We had called for more hot tea and waited 10 minutes just for us to have to call another server for it again. It would be reasonable if there were more tables, but there wasn’t a lot of other customers. Whenever we asked for something or even when we were ordering, our server had a distasteful look on her face and constantly side eyed us - not sure if this was unintentional but it was very unwelcoming. It wasn’t a one time occurrence either, it was throughout our whole dinner even as we were walking out to leave the place, we got side eyed by them.

I couldn't find a place in New York that serves delicious pig's feet, but the pig's feet here at Haejang restaurant had no smell at all and were soft in texture, so they were really delicious. The cold noodles(Naengmyun) I ordered together were also fantastic taste. The owner and all the staff are kind and very attentive to the customers. Plus, the restaurant is really clean. I would recommend this restaurant. I plan to visit again with my friends.

Love this place! Amazing food and really great ambiance. The servers are extremely friendly and the food portions are big, family style. Definitely planning on going back.

There are two entrances. The main entrance has 3 parking spots but it's fairly easy to find free street parking within 1 to 3 blocks. The restaurant was newly renovated and used to be another targeting younger dinner with fusion Korean food. There was only one other table when I went in, factoring that the service is considered slow so if you are using your lunch break you might want to call ahead to save time. The hangover soup was good, I got the purple rice and the side dish leaves room for improvement on the salty side free refills. Light tasting barley 🌾 flavored hot tea, prefer it to be stronger. I wish the rice 🍚 could be 20% more. I didn't want to waste rice by order another 🥣. Credit card surcharge seems to be common nowadays. Not the cheapest deal but competitive in the area. The fish wasn't good, I wish they would give yellow croaker like nearby restaurants. even a smaller one that would add points to the experience.
