Funky Fries and Burgers

Had the TJ Dog and the cheeseburger egg rolls, and both were excellent. The TJ dog was loaded, well balanced, and full of flavor without being messy. Every bite delivered. The cheeseburger egg rolls were a standout. Crispy on the outside, packed with flavor on the inside, and they kept their crunch the entire time. They’ve also added new items to the menu, and if these dishes are any indication, they are doing things right. Everything tasted fresh, consistent, and clearly made with care. Comfort food done right. Highly recommend and a great local family restaurant to support!

Funky has been a go to for me and my wife whenever we stop in to El cajon to visit family. The portions are excellent, and the quality is something I wish other restaurants strived for. When you look at their menu and see the burger in all its juicy glory, that's exactly what you're gonna get. Not some deflated sad burger.

Service was excellent, very friendly and we had our food at our table quickly. Smash burger was so good and the Philly cheesesteak Burger was so delicious and juicy. The tots were cooked to perfection nice and crispy and not greasy. Definitely going to be back here, also the pineapple cream soda is so good. This place was 10/10 !! Good selection of draft beers also, 2 off draft on Thursdays and Michelob ultra only 4.50$ 😃 leaving here full and happy

My family and I had an amazing experience at Funky Fries and Burgers! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and my toddler couldn’t get enough of the tater tots. The owner was incredibly nice and friendly… he even came by our table to say hello and check in. Very genuine interaction with a lot of care in their service. We’ll definitely be back. Places like this truly deserve the support!

Funky Fries is absolutely delicious and lives up to its name. The fries are perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and made fresh. The portions are generous, the toppings are creative, and every bite is satisfying. The service is friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe is fun and welcoming. If you’re looking for comfort food done right with bold flavors, Funky Fries is a must-try. Highly recommend.

Came here for a bite and mannnnnn I was so satisfied after leaving here and eating this smash burger with their signature sauce along with their southwest mayo sauce too. I should've added bacon to that mug shoooooooot I will definitely be back!!! Jillianth and Viann were exceptional with the customer service here.

Stopped here late at night with a group of 6. We ordered in groups of two and everyone got something different, I ended up with some tater tots that were fantastic and really hit the spot after a long day of visiting around San Diego. It didn't take very long for the food to come out and the guy working the front was very nice.
