The first time I ate at YumYum Bento was in August 2024, right about when the students moved back to MSU Campus. The eatery is decorated in a nice, clean white and bamboo tan aesthetic, with a hefty amount of kawai thrown in. Their menu is a nice mixture of different Asian cuisines - Japanese, Korean, and Thai. The first thing I had to try was the spring rolls - fresh, crisp, and delicious. The main entree that even was the Kalbi - nicely prepared, great flavor, and the kimchi goes well with it. I believe I had to get another serving of rice (as I like a lot of rice with my Kalbi). Jump forward to earlier today (January 6, 2026) and I tried the Bulgogi, which actually had slices of carrot and zucchini along with the requisite onion. Again could have sprung for another serving of rice, but I made the one serving last the whole meal. Wonderful garlicy sauce. And the vegetables were a plus to the meal. Both visits, the staff was very friendly. Next time, I should actually try their Bento boxes and boba tea.

Yum Yum Bento is the perfect place for a delicious bite! Small cozy restaurant with adorable decorations. ShanShan and all the staff are so sweet and welcoming! I've been coming here for years, and it's never disappointed. The shrimp tempura curry is SO good. All the appetizers are good too. Mr. Bear gets a 10/10 as well. He's very quiet and polite 🧸💕

Great place. They have many options, delicious food and friendly service. I came with two other people. We came in for a late lunch and were the only customers for a bit. The inside looks nice and is comfortable. All three of us loved the food we ordered. Everything came quickly. Our server was patient with us while we took time to decide. Great experience overall. Edit: I visited this place three times so far with a few other people each time, and we all loved the food each time. The food is always quick and delicious.

Amazing spot. Not one bad thing in the menu. The guy with the ponytail in there is so amazing and attentive. Followed him since his time at Mi sushi also an amazing spot. Everything here is good and this place is awesome. Love the chicken curry katsu and tom yum soup

4 stars because of limited seating and the lack of parking space they had. Also the fact that it's right off the busiest street on campus. Other than that, everything was great. I order the volcano chicken Ramen, and there's nothing better than a spicy and hot ramen to enjoy on a chilly day. The inside is super clean and modern and very cozy. Will be back next time for sure.

I love this place so much! I come here every week because they have the best ramen I’ve tried in the area. If you love ramen or any soup in general, I highly recommend giving this place a try. They also have many options like bento box varieties, Japanese & Thai curry, stir fry, and more. There’s also bubble tea, fruit tea, and their slushies are really good. The staff is super friendly and the environment is very cozy and cute! Food is always ready without a long wait too. It’s a great place to spend time with friends or enjoy a meal by yourself. I will definitely come here a lot from now and strongly recommend!!

This place is fairly new on Grand River and I was craving some Asian food, so I wanted to give it a try. I ended up picking up takeout with a friend. I was slightly disappointed that they didn’t use less plastic in their packaging but, so goes the typical practice of the Asian takeout restaurant and a lot of Michigan restaurants in general. They have several ordering options, including Uber eats and DoorDash which was nice to see. We just walked in to place our orders. It was nice to see that they had a very inviting seating area. It felt very bright and open with cute Asian-themed decorations. The two ladies running the counter were kind and friendly, and we had no issues ordering and receiving our food. I ordered Takoyaki and Chicken Yakisoba Noodles. Whenever I see Takoyaki on the menu, I feel like it’s a must have. The best way to describe it is a deep fried ball of seafood mush topped with a super flavorful sauce and some flaky stuff. The Yakisoba noodles were on point and definitely a highlight to the meal. The noodles were sauced with a Japanese style subtle smoky bbq flavor that wasn’t overpowering. Tossed and fried with vegetables, eggs, and chicken, I felt like the dish could have had a bit more chicken in it but, definitely would not be a dealbreaker for coming back here again. Overall this place has a lot of Asian variety on their menu that makes it a very versatile Asian Fusion restaurant for a quick bite or full-on feast. I am excited to come back to dine-in and try their seafood pancake, kimchi fries, and bibimbap!
