Captain Hooks Fish & Chicken

Definitely a whole it the wall kinda place. Very friendly staff, they seemed like they would cook anything or combination of things any way you want them. Chicken livers and gizzards were cooked very well, way to much food. I did eat it all but I probably shouldn't have.

If you want some chicken tenders trust me go Here!! I've just love this place. I'm not 100% sure that was grouper as I've never seen it cut like tilapia. Its usually a thick cut fish filled. Nonetheless this place serves it up regularly. Definitely get that cheese cake egg roll OMG AMAZING 👏 tell them Robert sent ya the white Man with the big beard. Ya may get an extra fry or sum

From the outside it doesn’t look like much but once you walk through the door and taste the food, you’ll change your mind. From whole chicken wings to some of the best gizzards I’ve ever had, Captain Hooks is where it’s at. Just a little small restaurant in downtown I make a point to come here at least twice a month when I’m off and in town. You have to know how to cook gizzards and this place definitely knows. Service is always great, staff is friendly. Definitely give them a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

So the plates that we had for dinner was actually pretty good until my friend ordered her some cheesecake for her sweet tooth, and she took a bite and it was frozen. Then I take it up there and they just throw the one she bit off into the grease and served us that one. Then it definitely had me thanking how many people has took a bite of something and they threw it back off in the grease?

OMG! Piping hot fried grouper & oysters with Jimmy's Special Sauce. Ummm, it's just so tasty and satisfying. It's what came to the deep South for. Just good eating. I highly recommend it. Our food was superb!

Food cooked to hard I thought it was me but no it's them they cook food so hard it dries the fish and shrimp out. I won't be back because they also charge you 3% for using a debit card as if. It ain't worth it. The fried green tomatoes is what caught my attention to come here being new to Dothan well I hate to say this, but they were fried to hard and to much batter heck all the food is fried hard as heck. Wasted my money two times here. Stop packing all the food in one box you packed my fish shrimp and 10 french fries all in one small box. Stop doing that because you couldn't even close the box all the way it was to much of nasty in there.

Great place if your hungry for Fish / Shrimp / Oysters & even Chicken & other things . I had the 2 PC Catfish filled with fries it was fried perfectly very good fish .
