Mekkala Thai Cuisine

I love Mekkala, best Tai food in town. Large portions and excellent flavor every time. I usually go with Yellow Curry, but wanted soup today and tried the Chicken Tom Yum and it's delicious.

Always have a good meal at Mekkala. Standard go to for me and the wife for the occasional lunch date. Good portion sizes for the price. They can be spicier than the other Thai places in town. Their medium spice is like a hot at the other places in town, so just be aware.

Ok now, I’m still going to give this locally owned business 5 stars because the food is amazing but tonight I feel like I got half the portion I usually do. I also forgot to say no tin foil because it messes with my teeth so that’s why it’s in a separate container. It’s typically loaded with chicken and veggies and feeds me at least 3 times. I ordered an extra side of rice because I usually have so many leftovers. I called and told them but the guy assured me that it wasn’t half portion. I asked for an extra cookie as well, which I received but wouldn’t have gotten a fortune cookie at all if I didn’t ask. Like I stated from the beginning, I’m not trying to ruin this place and I really do love the food but extremely disappointed with this order.

My first time here and I can say they have elegant table setting, the place is neat including their restroom. I love the food that we ordered and the portion size is a lot. We are only 2 but it's already good for 4. We dont have to get their attention to refill our drinks because they will just ask you right away. Staff are very attentive to their customer. Including the cook and servers they're like 5 or 6 but all of them are very energetic and the vibes are so positive.

One of my favorite places in Chico, I’ve been coming a little under a year now and it is one of my top choices for a treat meal. Consistent quality and taste 🙂

Ordered the Pad Se Ew. The noodles tasted like they were previously cooked, thrown into the fridge/freezer and then reheated. Like they were dry. For $20 plus tax, tip, and the surcharge they place on using plastic, I expect much more. Noodles should be soft and succulent. The wall is full of warnings to customers about their right to refuse service, the charges for using credit card, etc. Not what I want to be looking at when I’m out to dinner. The service was great, but it took 50 minutes to get our orders ready after we gave them to the server so this tells me that the weak link in this case is the chef and owners. I will not be coming again because I can make something much tastier at home.

This food here is so amazing. For starters, they have (I believe) 6 different levels of heat, so you can pick what's right for you instead of burning your tongue off, or having no heat at all. The service is spectacular, and was really helpful. The Pad Thai Drama is my definite go-to. And you absolutely have to top it off with the deep fried bananas for dessert. I ate every bite of food on my plates, including appetizers and desserts. The salad, and the cucumber salsa with the appetizer were both out of this world. The price is reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity of your food. The wait time is bearable, as well. One of the few places in Chico that I have nothing negative I can possibly say about it.
