Excited to have a family dinner out. We had some gift cards to use. It wasn't a good experience in the slightest. Server wasn't mean but definitely not friendly. Every table was sitting with empty plates looking around for server. The food came out and was so dried out. Those nachos were $10. Beyond disgusting. It took same amount of time to chew as beef jerky and thats zero exaggeration. No refills. Drink order was wrong. Water cups had a film on them. You could see and feel. 🤢 we will find a better location for this chain at some point as we loved it in CNY. My son's chicken had a musty taste and after 1 bite, he was done. Did not complain. Just left dissatisfied and disappointed. What is the problem here? Short staffed?
First time visiting and Mickey made the entire experience! From the moment we walked in he was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. He took the time to explain the menu and gave spot-on recommendations! everything we ordered was delicious. You can tell he really cares that customers enjoy their visit. We felt comfortable right away and never rushed. Thank you, Mickey, for making our first visit such a great one. We will definitely be back!
It was Veteran's Day but we were still seated immediately. Our options were pulled pork, cheeseburger or chicken fingers which were HUGE. Ashley was an amazing server. Definitely sit in her section.
MY EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE 😤 Went there with my family after church thinking we were about to have good vibes and GOOD FOOD… we were fooled BADLY! First off — hard, dry chicken. Then uncooked chicken. Then they forgot items off our plates! The server? Absolutely snobby and terrible. No hospitality at all. Like — if you’re not a people person or can’t give good service, why be a waitress?? We waited 20 minutes for refills just to see her walk out the bathroom on her phone 🙄 I ordered lemon pepper wings — she brought me BBQ wings first, so I sent them back. Then she brings this… a feather COOKED into my food. I sent it right back, didn’t even want it anymore. I wasn’t risking getting sick. Told the manager and all he said was, "Ha-ha, the chicken comes that way, all we do is cook it." …Excuse me?! 🤨 Multiple tables were complaining about their food and the service too. We weren’t expecting fine dining but JESUS, it was issue after issue. I’m not telling you not to eat there — but BEWARE!!! 😩
Mickie is the waiter you want when dining here. Food was great. Happy hour drinks good. Our group had 17. Mickie, our only servicer, handled our crowd with the best service, engaged with everyone, helped with the menu, no delay in service. Mickie made our visit enjoyable with many laughs, always had a smile, great conversations.
Working in the Virginia Beach area stopped in haven’t been here in over a year the food is pretty darn good I had this young goth chick for a waitress she was nice but just terrible at her job I asked her for a glass of water to begin with and twice more she came back around serving food but behold no water for me Another young gentleman was helping I asked him and he got it to me within a minute then at the end of my meal the girl again gave me my check and never came back to get it squared away I had to pay by phone I could of just walked out the dang door right past her as she was just talking to people instead of doing her job.
Our first time in Smokey Bones and it didn't disappoint. The food took a while to appear but when it did you could understand why and we were not disappointed at all, well worth the extra wait time over other eateries. It came served over its own little BBQ pit, wonderful and it tasted so good. Service was friendly and good too. Would go back for sure.
