UPDATE 7/30/23 - Took our niece out to try this for the second time and honestly - the Korean dogs are exceptional. The customer service has improved (the lady that handed us the food was very welcoming and offered us samples of the different sauces which was very helpful to decide what we wanted on top) and while the kiosk ordering isn't the best method .. the food is worth it. Go here and try the Korean corn dogs!! Make sure to get a half/half so you can experience the insane cheese pull!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finally was able to get out and try this food truck at Checkpoint 221. While we know they're "in training" still, we wanted to experience this food everyone has talked about. Going to split this into a two part review. Food wise - the Korean "All Dog" was exceptional. The dog was flavorful and juicy inside but very crisp and yet held together very well. We both agreed it's on the sweeter side with the breading and while we were offered multiple sauces with it - we wanted to try it plain for the experience. Moving forward though, we would get sauce on top next time to offset the sweetness and can totally understand why they offer it as a "sweet and spicy" experience. **Please keep in mind that this isn't offered when you are ordering on the kiosk - only when you pick the dog up.** Ultimately, as a plain corn dog it was a very enjoyable dog and would recommend as a treat for the price. From a service perspective - extremely disappointed. When we went up, there was a kiosk there to "self order" with no real signage or warning that this was the expectation. I feel like if you're going to have a food truck/restaurant, part of driving business and clientelle is to ENGAGE WITH YOUR CUSTOMER. Nobody from inside the truck even acknowledged us as we were ordering. To add insult to the experience, they then ask for a 20-25-30% tip on the screen and while we have zero issue tipping the maximum at places we enjoy and support, we cannot support this tipping with zero service. When my significant other went up to get her dog after being texted from their system it was ready, it wasn't officially ready and the lady didn't seem to want to engage with her either. Again - food wise? Solid 4/5 and would recommend but service was a 0 and need to emphasize that this is a serious turnoff for an establishment that has a social media hype behind it.

My daughter and I were excited to hear there was a Korean corn dog food truck here in Portland, so we ventured out to give it a try. I’m so glad we did because this place was AMAZING! I’ve had plenty of cheese dogs but this one top notch. It had an amazing crunch to it, and the cheese had the besssttt cheese stretch. My daughter loved the Taiyaki , she got the special which was lavender cream, i believe. Very nice people working behind the counter as well 👍 Will definitely be back!

This was my third time visiting Sweet Seoul and it just gets better every time! The staff are super helpful and always make recommendations on what to get. They are quick and the food comes out hot! I loved the half and half dog and the cheese pull was crazy! If you’re in Beaverton and craving something yummy this is the spot!

We stopped in at Checkpoint 223. I have been waiting for this food truck to open. I love Korean foods. I am very excited about this for Salem. I've had Korean Corndogs a number of times, and these hit all the markers for me. You can order from a person if you have cash or submit your order yourself if you have a card. They also had soda milks. The owner was there and was really nice and pleasant to speak to. She was really great about explaining what the items were to people who didn't know. There was a couple in front of me who had a lot of questions, and she was more than happy to answer all the questions they had. I ordered the following: A half cheese/hotdogs Korean Corndog $7 and Tayaiki $4 that was strawberry cheesecake. My order took about 5 to 10 mins to cook. I didn't really notice because I was enjoying the benches and looking at all the food trucks. I definitely plan on trying the sushi truck next time! I let the owner pick the sauce, and she opted for spicy, which wasn't bad and was kinda sweet. It was perfectly crunchy, and the flavor was amazing. Even my super picky eater boyfriend was stealing bites. He loved the breading. The Tayaiki was an absolute treat. It was crunchy, sweet, warm, and delicious. My boyfriend kept eating it. And I did make a note to bring my kids back here. It try one because I think they would love it! I can't wait to see what the future holds for this truck. You should definitely try it!

I really wanted to like this place, I was so excited when I found out they were coming. The corn dogs themselves were decent, I really like the coating but the hotdogs seem low quality. The tayaiki was small and not worth the price. The issue was the service. They have you order on a tablet and leave a phone number to get a text when the order is ready. We ordered 2 hotdog corn dogs and one strawberry cheesecake tayaiki. When we get up there, they only have the corn dogs ready. They say it is just another minute for the dessert and even said they heard it being almost ready. So we agree to wait another minute near the cart. This was a lie. It was at least 10 minutes before the dessert was ready. We stood there in the sun waiting when we could have sat in the shade and eaten if they had been honest that it wasn’t close to ready. They had several orders out while we stood there, and miraculously, everyone else got what they ordered at once. I cannot fathom why you would text a customer that their order was ready when it wasn’t and have them wait like that. Just be honest that you messed up and texted the wrong order. I say this because we only got one full hotdog, the other was half cheese so most likely they got themselves messed up on the orders. Which I would have understood if they were honest instead of stringing us along and waiting the full cook time for the dessert.

I went there on the first day this cart opened. I had never tried Korean corn dogs or taiyakis or gochujang chicken or banana milk. We got all of the above, and loved everything!! My vegetarian daughter loves the cheese dog, I loved the half and half. My other daughter loved the chicken (nice touch with the tots), and we all loved our taiyakis. I have really picky kids, and the only thing that wasn’t perfect was the mac and cheese taiyaki was a little spicy for one of my kids (the other two loved it). It was the cart’s first day and we placed a big order, and they even gave us extras when they made the wrong flavor of taiyaki. Win win. The friends we were with ordered even more variety and said everything was so good! Their dogs are pictured (along with my daughter’s cheese pull!). We’ll be back again soon!!! Thank you so much for coming to Beaverton!!!

I have been excited to try this place for a while and ordered two half and half corn dogs in different styles. The corn dogs were almost inedible with how messy they were. The batter was still raw in parts, the cheese was overwhelming and between the two corndogs I had about half a hot dogs worth of meat. Probably the worst meal I've paid for in the last year
