Customer Reviews
Myung Dong 1st Ave has a rating of 4 out of 5 based on over 365 reviews on Google
Pretty nice ambience, neat and clean. Friendly staff. The menu is via QR code but sometimes the phone read the drinks menu first as the food and drinks menu QR code were too close to each other. Found it a little inconvenient. You can ask for physical menu but some prices are outdated, we were warned. Food was generally in good proportion, good for group sharing. Found food a little on the sweet side. But authentic Korean in general. The egg roll had cheese and ham (which is more of a fusion), but I personally liked it very much and it was really good because it was served hot. Went during Halloween, they had some cool, and moving life-size decorations to creates a spooky ambience. It was sometimes hard to grab attention of the servers, maybe because the music was loud and it was dark in the evening. The servers were helpful once we got their attention. It can be hard to find parking around the area. Clean bathroom.
Myung Dong 1st Ave, in the Boston neighborhood of Allston, is not actually on "1st Ave". To help avoid any confusion, that is just part of their name here on Google. This fine Korean restaurant seems to cater to a younger crowd but offers up a very nice menu that most would find quite enticing. I had Corn Cheese, which was a new experience for me, followed by a delicious hot plate of Spicy Pork Bulgogi. Service was very friendly. Myung Dong is a short distance from both Brighton Music Hall and O’Brien’s Pub, so if you happen to be going to one of those music venues this would be a very good grub option before or after the show. They are open 5 PM to 1 AM every night of the week. Very much recommended.
The family came here around 11:30PM after arriving late to Boston and needed some decent food. This place was quite good and loud. Lot of college kids drinking, eating and having good time. So if anyone prefers quiet dinning do not come here. The food here was quite good and service was good too. Lots of bar food small plates and the usual traditional Korean fare.
Great food and great service! We ordered the scallion pancake, spicy chicken wings, and the Boodae Jungol hotpot. My favorite dish was the chicken wings which were not that spicy to me but they were super crispy and satisfying to bite into!
Finally found a place in Boston that I can call the "spot." I go here often with friends to chill, celebrate and party Their glacier soju is elite and food is awesome (gizzards, army stew, pork and baby octupus, pancakes) The staff is so genuine, kind and fun. David (the owner), Jennifer, Jessica and Sam are literally the sweetest. Every time the gang comes we look forward to seeing them and having a banger of a night The place is also super nice, bathroom is very clean (great for when you’re cooked and need to look into the mirror to lock in). Pullup cuz this is the spot Also Kpopppppp music all night Jenni would defs come here
Myung Dong 1st Ave is the perfect spot for Korean street food vibes in Allston. Their tteokbokki is spicy, chewy, and addictive, and the fried chicken is crispy and juicy. The atmosphere is lively and fun — great for casual dinners or late-night cravings with friends!
Fun place to drink sjou. Food is very average. Fried chicken had too mcuh breading and not a lot of sauce. The stew was tasty but was mainly broth.
