I’ve been here twice, and have had a pleasent time on both occasions. There’s a nice selection of books, devotionals, prayer books, bibles, etc etc. They also have a good selection of sacramentals, statues, crucifixes, rosaries, prayer cards, all that good stuff. Overall a very pleasant place with a quaint atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful staff too!

My husband and I just left " Alba house" it’s so beautiful here . Brother Frank gave us a very warm greeting . He was so helpful and I found everything I needed . Great customer service he even walked around and hand me my purchase thank you and God Bless

I have been a customer of the Alba House for over 53 years, since 1965. I love to buy prayer cards for family and friends. They have lovely medals, rosary beads, crucifixes, holy statues, religious books and so much more. I love the staff and the atmosphere. I buy Mass cards at St Paul's in the back. Toward the left is a very modern Chapel, with an Altar and you can attend Mass. But my favorite place is the Wayside Shrine. It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can go anytime to light a candle and say a prayer. There's also a lovely grotto with many holy statues of blessed Saints on display. Additionally, there's an area with the Stations of the Cross. And it's all located conveniently on a major street, ample parking but in a beautiful, park-like natural setting with benches to sit awhile. Sadly, Churches don't remain open all day anymore due to the way of the World we live in. But you can always get a brief respite from it all at the Wayside Shrine. You can say a prayer, calm yourself and breathe in the spirituality and peaceful tranquility any time, day or night. It's like a gift from God. And I'm grateful for it.

When my boyfriend and I drove on the property, the bookstore is the main building. Its right in front. To the left of the bookstore is a little chapel. We went in the chapel because he wanted to say a prayer. When we walked in, you could hear a pin drop. It was very pretty inside too. I couldn't believe how peaceful it was. I felt such a sense of calmness and happiness while I was there. Anyway, to the right of the bookstore, there is a little quaint, pretty garden. It's meant to pray and meditate in, and I must say, that garden has something special about it too. It just seems to to calm my soul when I walk in that garden and pray while looking at all the pretty foliage.

Everybody in Staten Island should pay this place a visit to say prayers, and they also have an excellent bookstore with not only excellent books about the Catholic faith, but also sacramental pieces for your home for a reasonable price.

Love this place. So kind and welcoming. There prices are so good. If your looking for a gift, stop in. They have new books all the time. Wish they had new releases from catholic authors. so many good catholic books out there now. Stock the saints books!!

A beautiful and peaceful place to visit. A large variety of Catholic reading materials and articles. Wide selection of paintings/Rosaries/religious jewelry/ etc.... It even have a beautiful small praying chapel outside the store.
