The Bookworm on Main Street

On our latest trip to St. Charles, the clan wondered into The Bookworm on Main Street. And, I'm really glad we did! With our entire family being ravenous book readers, The Bookwork was like a little slice of literary heaven. We all absolutely loved it! The store is cozy and filled with everything you could ever ask for in a bookstore. But the greatest thing about this store was the owner, John L Campbell. Mr. Campbell was kind enough to give both me and my daughter some words of encouragement on our future writing endeavors. He also suggested both a book on writing by Stephen King AND his first novel Omega Days. I picked up both. Meeting a published author anytime is great. Meeting a published author in his very own bookstore is a memory my daughter and I will share for the rest of our lives. Yes, it WAS that cool! I can't wait to dive into "my next obsession." Great experience here, the owner is super nice! We chatted with him about his time as a detective before becoming an author and moving to STL, and he had many a story to tell. My girlfriend bought one of his books, which he signed for free at checkout, and she absolutely loved reading it! The book was A Judge From Salem, highly recommend

It's a cute little shop, but I have never felt more unwelcome in a bookstore. Tried to ask questions and the man behind the counter just grunted. Seemed like the prices were decent but still left without buying anything.

The store is packed with great books. Most are used and some new. Cute bookmarks and other items are at the counter. The owner is friendly without being pushy. Definitely stop by the shop when you are on Main Street. A real treasure.

Cool little shop. Stopped in after breakfast yesterday and got a nice edition of Moby dick for a good price, but they also have some really unique items I will probably go back for. Gentleman behind the counter was nice and welcoming -- not sure what the other reviewer is on about.
