My family and I treasure our visits to bookshops, especially for finding new books, birthday presents or simply browse their alleys seeking for classics. In Santa Monica, Barnes & Noble has become our preferred destination, especially given the scarce number of bookstores in downtown nowadays. The Barnes & Noble location on 3rd Street Promenade is a delightful addition and stands out as a phenomenal success. Though it is somewhat smaller than their typical stores, this quality actually enhances its charm, making it feel more authentic and welcoming. The layout, with two floors, thoughtfully caters to diverse interests. The lower level is wonderfully suited for younger readers, featuring a selection of toys and an impressive, well-curated collection of Mangas that we particularly enjoy. Despite its more compact size, the store does not compromise on variety, offering an extensive range of books across different genres. What truly sets this location apart, however, is the staff. They are incredibly helpful and friendly, contributing to a sense of customer intimacy that is sometimes lost in larger spaces. It's clear that the cozy atmosphere of this smaller space fosters a closer connection between the staff and patrons. In summary, our family's experiences at the Barnes & Noble on 3rd Street Promenade have been nothing short of wonderful. It's a gem of a bookstore that we'll continue to visit and support.

You get a very cozy vibe here. Its a smaller Barnes & Noble to me. It has a 2nd floor going down. I got a nice sale and found one book I wanted (No I didn't check online or call before going. I like to explore new locations). I discovered another series but they didnt have book 1. Luckly it can be read as a standalone.

Went to the grand opening today of the Barns and Noble in Santa Monica, California. They had a ribbon cutting ceremony. The mayor of Santa Monica spoke, the district manager of this region went around and thanked and welcomed customers for coming. They have two floors. Areas are compact, nearly organized and the displays are easily accessible. Lower level has music, games, history, science etc.. Will definitely patronize regularly. There is also a coffee shop right next door.

I'm so glad that they re-opened on the 3rd St Promenade! I still miss their original location on the corner of 3rd & Wilshire, but this new location is still much bigger than it looks on the outside! I thought I'd just stop by and escape without buying anything, but I couldn't help myself! Darnit, they got me again!

I love the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Santa Monica. There are two levels and they always have the books available that I request. I really do miss the Barnes & Noble at the marina where there were two levels but my choice now is Barnes & Noble Santa Monica.

Me and my family went to the Santa Monica pier and then stopped at Cheesecake Factory for lunch after while walking back to the car I stopped at Barnes and Noble because I love to read and surprisingly never been to Barnes and Noble. I was immediately shocked and in awe of how beautiful and amazing the staff decorated and organized everything. I ended up buying the book A little life. The only downside is that the books are expensive compared to Amazon

Love this location, employees are beyond helpful and so kind and friendly to everyone. Never a bad experience here. So great I don’t mind the parking situation, it is next to a mall so you can only imagine how busy weekends can be
