Recycle Bookstore

Great selection of books at a cozy spot that is bigger than it appears from the outside. I wasn’t sure if the store would have the titles I was searching for since they are new releases, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a great new releases section. I quickly found exactly what I was looking for and picked up a few other good finds all at a very reasonable price. The staff are kind and friendly, plus there is a cute shop kitty.

A truly exceptional used bookstore. I stopped in while I was in the area and was immediately struck by how welcoming the staff were. Everyone I interacted with was polite, friendly, and genuinely knowledgeable—the kind of people who clearly love books and enjoy helping readers find what they’re looking for. They struck the perfect balance of being helpful without hovering, and their recommendations were thoughtful rather than generic. It made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. The selection is fantastic, especially if you appreciate poetry, small‑press titles, or older editions. I ended up finding several first editions and a number of unexpected gems—all fairly priced. It’s the kind of place where you can make real discoveries. A wonderful shop with wonderful people. Absolutely worth visiting if you love books.

Always a great bookstore, huge variety of used and new books, which is such a rarity these days with all the used bookstores closing. Bookstore cat was very helpful, let me pet them and led me right to the book I was looking for. (This is not a joke, I literally was not expecting the book I was looking for to be in the fantasy/sci-fi section but cat led me to it and there it was).

Huge selection of science fiction & fantasy novels, covering nearly an entire room. Includes both new and used so they have pretty much any author you might be looking for. Best selection I’ve come across in the Bay Area. Give yourself time to wander, you’ll need it! Saw a very friendly black cat that came by to groom itself on one of the stools and solicit some pets.

I spent hours here, had such a great time. They have a wonderful variety of books, very clean space and neat too. Love the extra touch of a cat there! Such a jewel in San Jose!

An incredible visit. The selection is huge and the place is compact with bookshelves everywhere. It's organized very well and their kids literature section is well designed! The shop cat adds to the atmosphere. Looked around for a long while. You can really see the care put into this shop.

This is hands down best and most abundant book collection in the Bay area I’ve seen. I visited quite an amount of bookstores in California looking for something unique (not superficial pop and not readily Amazon available) for thought pleasure. This shop has a deepest collection possible, the place is huge, everything is nicely organised by thematics you might look for, and the owner helps you, if you ask, by directing you to the area where your searched stuff is. Lots of chairs in solitude places, where you take time like in an old library, and nobody disturbs your search. Some books are super unique and old! Like leather, century old, history and so on. New worthy ones are here also. And - this place has an indoor cat! ❤️🐈‍⬛ Introvert’s paradise. Intellectual’s paradise. Cat lover’s paradise.
