Kinokuniya Bookstore - Portland

Pretty good. This place a good selection of books, I like the amount of Godzilla merch hidden around this place, great addition, Godzilla is the best after all. Besides that there are a few figures up stairs, ok selection up there, wasn't expecting it from a book store but idk what to except this was the first time going to a store like this. Crazy amount of pens too. I would like to see more green hair anime character figures though, that would be cool. No idea.

Always a 5 star experience at any Kinokuniya Bookstore. If you think it's not, reevaluate your life because where else were you getting pop up Alien Stage merch? Always a robust manga section, great pop ups forever, amazing art books for the budding and professional artist, and tons of lil treatos. The line up could be a little clearer, but overall 10/10 with just the best folks working the counter as well

Wow! This store is so much fun! I found so many cool things! Especially the pens. I brought my nieces in and they had a blast going through all the cool Japanese toys, the stationaries, pens, books etc ... I highly recommend a visit to this store!

I visited this store a few Saturdays ago and loved the vibe and book selection, absolutely stunning. However, the employee with short blue hair was rude. I’ve worked in retail and would never show annoyance toward a customer, especially when it takes the same energy to be kind. My partner even apologized twice for standing in front of the line and moved quickly, yet we were still treated like we just killed your cat or something….. Otherwise great experience and selection!

What an amazing store this is. It's a very hidden gem that you would not see unless you were looking for it. Or just happen to look underneath the canopy of an old theater. As you walk in. You are stunned by the wonder and that is Japanese imports. From an amazing collection of anime and manga to pens and markers. And then if you are observant, you will see a staircase leading upstairs to a studio Ghibli section. And that's not all. There's so much more content on the upper floor. I cannot imagine anybody leaving here without buying something.

Huge selection of stationary, gifts, trinkets, and comics. Didn’t have standalone sonny angels when i went 🙁 but they do have a sonny angel tote bag

If you love anime, manga, Japanese culture, plushies/toys, and/or high quality stationary, this HUGE bookstore has it all! A super fun place to visit even if you're only there to window shop. However, if you do find yourself shopping for keeps, join the membership club for rewards based on your spending. It's totally worth it!
