Grand Gesture Books

Hands down one of the best bookstores in Portland and wow, such a gift to have a romance focused bookstore too!! The owner is truly such a gem and always curates the most beautiful selection of romance reads - and it naturally helps you branch out and diversify your reading! There are sections for local/PNW authors as well, and many of them come in to autograph their books too! I appreciate that there are titles from smaller authors as well as the big name romance gurus in the industry! The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, one even spent extra time looking in the back when they noticed I was missing one book in the series (I was trying to buy the whole set) and they did so without me prompting! Love that they host various clubs and events, I’ve been to a few of their author talks and they were all very well organized!

Amazing!! Great selection. A number of autographed copies of a variety of books. Events & a Twilight setup for the upcoming return to theaters. They host authors. Really nice and helpful staff.

Finally was able to visit Grand Gesture Books today and already can’t wait to make the trip back. The vibes are everything, the selection of books as well as other fun bookish items is amazing. We loved!

I just wrote in to my local romance bookstore to suggest they could inventory their store more like Grand Gesture Books. (I visited Grand Gesture twice on a trip to Portland and bought five books.) I love that Grand Gesture has more than just the same narrow subset of well-known titles that I could find by browsing online lists. On the first visit, I was able to find single copies of several of my favorite books and then look nearby on the shelves to find other books to enjoy. In that way, the well-known books served as a sort of index to find other lesser-known titles. Many books there had only a single copy on the shelves, and that broader inventory helped me to find several new books I enjoyed. On the second visit (two days later), the store employee was very helpful by listening to the types of books I enjoy and then pulling down several recommendations of books for me to consider.

I had the BEST time at Grand Gesture Books last night, signing books and speaking with a local author as Edward Cullen sparkled above us. The atmosphere is beyond lovely, the curation *chef's kiss*, and the owner and staff a dream. I cannot wait to come back!

Yay! I can finally check this off my list to visit! Came here from Seattle and it was everything. Such a wide selection of romance novels. Such a cute, grand vibe here with lots of trendy stickers and cute bookmarks to browse and pair with a new book. The staff were also super helpful and friendly.

10/10 experience at Grand Gesture books! I happened to arrive after 6pm on a day they were scheduled to close early for their book club. However, after I mentioned I was from out of town and flying out in the morning, they let my friend and I in. They were incredibly friendly and hospitable; allowing us to freely browse and ask for recommendations despite being busy with preparing for their evening event. As a black woman reader, I felt incredibly validated and seen in their book inventory and their marketing materials. I highly recommend any book lover to stop by this book shop. I had a beautiful experience.
