White Whale Bookstore

I recently visited a bookstore and cafe in Pittsburgh, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The cozy ambiance of the space made it the perfect spot to relax and immerse myself in books while enjoying a warm drink. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure everyone felt at home.

I measure a bookstore by what they have in their poetry section, the vibe, and their staff. By this rationale, White Whale Bookstore is in my top ten all time bookstores. They had an excellent selection. Their staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the layout and vibe was lovely. Their cafe in the bookstore was also cute, though I did not stop for coffee.

Wonderful bookstore in Bloomfield! The staff is so helpful and friendly and offer excellent reading suggestions. Stop by the adjoining cage for a delicious latte or to buy a funny card or beautiful piece of wrapping paper!

Wow, what a beautiful bookstore! The displays are thoughtful and timely, the café is nice and cozy, and there's a huge selection of books. Decent selection of children's books, too. We're lucky to have this indie, yinzers! Highly recommend!

My partner and I were in White Whale earlier today. First of all — the selection is well-curated and the space is cozy, tidy, and easy to browse. But there was a woman named Patricia (she was very loud about her name and and how important she was) in there being absolutely monstrous to the poor employee at the counter. When the manager came out, she ramped up her rudeness to a fierceness and cruelty only retail and service workers know. Both the staffmember and manager handled the situation with a grace that I wish I had. They remained polite, while firmly refusing to accept her terrible treatment. Watching that, they made me a happy new customer. They deserve some hefty holiday bonuses.
